While on the scene at the Sundance Film Festival this weekend, Danny DeVito took a moment to comment on the tinderbox subject diversity in the entertainment industry, and the actor-producer didn't mince words at all. Bluntly attributing the lack of diversity in Hollywood and subsequently in awards-recognized films to systemic racism, he said that "it's unfortunate that the entire country is a racist country."

Trying hard to be relevant
The term “racism” was invented by communists. Leon Trotsky was one of the first to use it. When whites engage in favoritism toward other whites (and therefore discrimination against non-whites), itâs called âracismâ. When other groups engage in favoritism, itâs called âethnic solidarityâ. When you buy into these word games, itâs called being a useful idiot.
Racist is an interesting word, after all who are the real racists? A person that loves their race, is proud of all itâs accomplishments, wants to live with their own kind and preserve their heritage? Or is a racist someone that is trying to destroy someone’s heritage through mass foreign immigration, diversity, multiculturalism and race mixing?
They’ve made the word meaningless.
Coincidence?
Dang yet another idiot that I will never contribute to his wealth. I don’t pay to see people who insult me. Hollywood elite can continue to alienate others who might.
I have a dream. Yeah right.
Danny, have another limoncello.
He must be desperate for another hollywierd gig.
Just more of the same old, tired, honky “white guilt” rhetoric from a honky Hollyweird celebrity that is required from them in order to stay employed.
Mr. DeVito, “you” do not represent “us”.
Cuba or France, perhaps.
Hollywood hasn’t changed for decades. They’re racists calling everyone else racists.
I remember Lucille Ball telling the story of the creation of Desilu. Seems the networks insisted America wouldn’t buy a show about a white American woman married to a Cuban. So they created Desilu and produced I Love Lucy themselves.
After reading the new rules they want for the Academy it really is affirmative action for the Oscars.
What you end up getting is a watered down, cheapened awards show that at one time was something special and prestigious.
BY expanding the categories for more awards given they are moving toward giving an award for everyone who participates in a movie.
So a lowly B or C actor and actress can get recognition for a performance, even if it is a direct to video production.
Think of all those people you never heard of that will be recognized.
DeVito’s just feeling some of his genealogical roots.
Yet here in the heart of Tennessee, I've been a member of two mid to large sized evangelical christian churches, both very conservative, and I couldn't count the number of mixed race married couples. I see senior women, old enough to have been voting age adults when Jim Crow laws and segregated drinking fountains were common, sitting with black toddlers on their lap, worshiping side by side with blacks. Where I live, on my little cul-de-sac, I have black neighbors on both sides and across the street. There are also asians and muslims on the cul-de-sac, only a scattering of white people, and no one really cares about race around here.
Seems to me that racism is inherent with liberal democrats while the rest of us conservatives already embrace MLK's dream of judging people on the content of their character and not the color of their skin.
Hey he was featured in Nespresso Commercial with George Clooney and it was pretty funny. Catch the extended version on YouTube.
Never cared for the vile dwarf.
