Beck said he had never endorsed a presidential candidate in his 40 years of broadcasting, but he made an exception because of the urgency of the moment.
He said he even prefers Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.), a self-proclaimed "democratic socialist" running in the Democratic presidential primary, to Trump.
"Honesty, faith and truth are basic requirements. And quite honestly, I have to tell you, this probably isn't going to go over very well, that's why I like Bernie Sanders," he said. "Bernie Sanders is like, 'Yep, I'm a socialist.'
"I can actually sit at a table with a man who says, 'Yes, I'm a socialist, and yes, I don't like what we are doing, we should be more like Denmark,' " he added.

Beck is wacko. I stopped listening to him because he’s like someone who just dropped down from Alpha Centauri.
I think I’ve pretty much discounted ANY official Tea Party group, affiliation or other sympathy-oriented entity wanting to take advantage of my complete disgust and distrust of federal government.
From what I’ve seen resulting from the gains we made in 2012 and 2014 (and even before) in Action versus Promises, I’ve concluded that most of them are only in it for themselves. I include Beck in this group also.
I am ONLY interested in what working TAX PAYING Americans think now - no organization, no money-raisers, no more lies and deception by those few who figure out first how to capitalize on my distrust. They can all just suck it.
I saw that too, and no spin can be done here. I don’t know who Ted’s advisers are but this is one event I’m sure they regret staging.
Know thine enemy.
This decision by Cruz tells me he doesn't make wise decisions.
More like the creepy girl that has a crush on you than a romance.
"Excellent strategery, Cruz campaign!"
And Beck aint completely nutso here.
His point is he admires that Bernie has the guts to admit who he is.
Even if he is a liar.
There, my friends, is your mind, on trumphatium.
Everyone here is hearing what they want to hear. Beck was saying (and I’m guessing you all know exactly what he was saying) that, in terms of being genuine, in terms of being transparent, Sanders is far more so than Trump. That, given Trump’s political swings, one would have a harder time reading him than someone like Sanders, who has been consistently socialist most of his political life. That is all. He said nothing about approving of socialism. He said nothing about liking Sanders.
Most of you are being disingenuous because of your disdain for Beck and are willing to twist things to suit your need to dismiss him. Some of you have him actually endorsing Sanders, for crying out loud. Dismiss him. Fine. But when you twist words, it is YOU that loses credibility.
They left out the part where he peed himself and started a small electrical fire on the stage, which he sheepishly referred to as a “little accident” to the crowd, which applauded.
I guess Beck would rather fight a socialist outside the gates than have Mr. Kelo himself destroying the party from within.
Kelo isn’t destroying us. The invasion is. Beck is fine with Sanders. A Dem politician who loves all the undocumented Democrats pouring over the border. With friends like these, who needs enemies?
That was precisely Beck’s point...he knows what he would be getting with Sanders, whereas nobody has a clue what they’ll be getting with Trump. The histrionics are strong on this thread.
Michael Savage says that Trump will give us 60 or 70 percent of what we want.
Back in the 1970’s and 1980’s and into the 90’s my ‘moderate’ Republican Congressman used to get 60 or 70 percent ratings from the American Conservative Union and things overall went downhill.
Savage’s endorsement of Trump scares me more than Beck’s endorsement of Cruz.
Yessir.
I saw that too, and no spin can be done here. I don’t know who Ted’s advisers are but this is one event I’m sure they regret staging.
I don’t think they had a choice. They needed some buzz and there was no plan b. Cruz has been hanging out at VFWs and diners. Speaking to a dozen people. This race is over.
