Donald Trumpâs official voting record has been released, showing that he was a registered Republican since at least 1980, throwing water on the theory that he was at one time a Democrat.
This is causing major panic in the Cruz campaign that insisted that Trump recently switched his affiliation.
Voting records for Trumpâs adult sons, Donald Jr. and Eric, were not immediately available.
Trump is leading by wide margins in New Hampshire, South Carolina, Florida, and nearly every other state where pollsters take the Republican electorateâs temperature.
In Iowa, he is running neck-and-neck with Republican Sen. Ted Cruz in some polls, and leading him comfortably in others.
On Thursday in Las Vegas, Trump boasted of a new Emerson College poll that shows him leading Cruz there by 10 points.
âCruz is going down,â he told a packed ballroom at the South Point casino. âHeâs like a nervous wreck. Heâs going down. Heâs had his moment.â

I am not a fan of the Smoking Gun either, but before the links died, there were stamped certified copies of proof of Trump’s previous democratic registration.
I can check my past voting record in NC.
Next, we'll hear that Cuomo and de Blasio have been Republicans all their life too.
No oh noes to it. The blog was a lie, and it sad that Trump’s surrogates have to resort to it.
Guess Trump needs help from Comrade Putin.
If one, like the blogger in the OP, misinterpreted what the NYC voter record actually said, yes and Bloomberg would appear to be a life-long registered Republican.
Once again, you are dumb as a turd.
“Obviously, that is sufficient for a plurality of primary voters, and steadily creeping up to a majority.”
Well put. And don’t forget that he’s conservative on gun control. So that would be four huge issues. And, yes, that is sufficient — for me, at least. Take care of those things, and everything else will fall into place.

How do they know how DT voted?
He may have claimed to be a Republican but you don’t know how he has voted. Were you there in the voting booth?

After Registering As A Republican, Independent, Democrat, And Republican, Donald Trump Has Now Opted Not To Enroll In A Party
Trump’s political flip-flopping over the past quarter-century is best chronicled in the files of New York City’s Board of Elections, where the businessman’s assorted voter registration cards are stored. Here’s what they reveal:
* In July 1987, Trump first registered from his penthouse in Manhattanâs Trump Tower. He enrolled in the REPUBLICAN PARTY, listing his prior residence as his boyhood home in Jamaica Estates, Queens.
* Twelve years later, in October 1999, Trump dumped the GOP, and enrolled in the INDEPENDENCE PARTY.
* Less than two years later, in August 2001, Trump again changed his party enrollment. This time, he emerged as a member of the DEMOCRATIC PARTY.
* He lasted eight years as a Democrat. In September 2009, Trump changed his affiliation, this time returning to the REPUBLICAN PARTY.
* As of press time, Trump’s latest party switch occurred six weeks ago, on December 21, when he again ditched the GOP. But instead of siding with a particular party, Trump checked off the box indicating “I DO NOT WISH TO ENROLL IN A PARTY.”
