How’s a father not lose his christian sensibilities in such crimes....father of victim or perpetrators?

Amazing. Folks are still talking and doing nothing concrete it seems. It will just die down until repeated by a next gererational sicko.

More than negligent, the coach was complicit with the crime when it was not immediately reported to the proper authorities, school and city, and parents of all involved. MOO! Very sad. the victim will re-experience this attack for many years., no matter the counseling received. Life changing!

God Bless the victim!

Apparently, there are 2 guesses available; front-row and back-row.

The three alleged assailants were arrested and charged with aggravated rape.

But coaches never reported the Dec. 21 incident to local authorities or child services, according to investigators.

These two sentances seem to be in conflict. How did the assailants get arrested if it was not reported to the authorities? The victim was taken to the hospital for medical care. Was 911 called for an ambulance?

The only way I can see the situation where the coach didnt report anything would be for him to drive the victim to the hospital, do a no name drop off. Is this what happened?

The article seems to raise more questions than answers.

That photo is from last year. The victim is a freshman, so he’s not in there.

Maybe I’m getting old but I recall the only hazing that ever took place was that a guy was given a “swirlie” and yuck, occasionally a “dirty swirlie”.

But my god, it never went much further than that.

This is sicker than sick. This wasn’t “horseplay”. It was rape. It was assault and worse yet, the coaches just turned a blind eye to it.

I hate to become part of what a local talk show host refers to as “Lynch Mob Nation” but heads definitely have to roll on this one - and that includes the students. Minors or not, they had to have a clue about what they were doing.

So who arrested and charged them?

And would it not be the job of the police to report the incident for which they arrested three people to child services?

I believe the implication is that the coaches did report the assault to the school district.

Playoffs, ya’know...

I agree, coaches and medical staff should face charges.

My first thought was back to Penn State

“Hamilton County Schools Superintendent Rick Smith asked for a BUYOUT of his CONTRACT Thursday, according to the Associated Press, citing a desire to step down so his school district can move on from the controversy.”

He should simply be fired w/o any further compensation. He’ll find work immediately elsewhere, because School Administrators are this country’s highest-paid migrant workers. They are akin to illegal aliens moving from “farm to farm (that’s really district to district) picking on unsuspecting school boards” that are more than likely staffed with local idiots who have no clue about education. When our children were in public school more than 20 years ago, my wife and I ( as PTC presidents) were actually threatened by the superintendent because we wanted to do something with our funds that he didn’t like.

This is a fairly local story for me.

It is a tragedy. The Coach, an Assistant (if I remember correctly), and the AD have all been charged with failing to report this. There was some sort of coverup.

It is also starting to come out that this was not the first incident, nor is this the only victim.

Because of their juvenile status, the names of the rapists and the victim have not been publicly released (although obviously some local people must know who they are). I believe both the victim and the rapists are young black men.

FYI..the just started current season of “American Crime” has a nearly identical story line. It’s very well done, it is NOT politically correct, and well worth watching. The first few episodes should be available online somewheres.

It WAS reported from the hospital...The Gatlinburg, TN hospital is small and the patient was flown to University of Tennessee hospital in Knoxville...
The three perps WERE charged and arrested...The team was shut down and the remainder of their schedule was cancelled...

This story has little and incorrect information about what really happened after the rape...

As the picture shows, the team consisted of 14 black kids and 2 white kids...

The white kid in the front row was the victim....

That photo is of the 2014-2015 team. The victim is a freshman. He isn’t in that photo.

The hospital reported the assault to LE where the assault happened, but none of the coaches did, either at the scene or back home (assault happened at an “Away” game), and none of the coaches reported it to Child Services either.
