National Review, the conservative magazine founded by William F. Buckley, will publish a special issue on Friday opposing Donald Trump's bid for the presidency, according to a source with knowledge of the issue's contents.
The issue will feature a blistering editorial that labels Trump a threat to conservatism, as well as essays by 22 prominent conservative thinkers from various ideological factions, in opposition to Trump's candidacy, the source said.
"Donald Trump is a menace to American conservatism who would take the work of generations and trample it underfoot on behalf of a populism as heedless and crude as The Donald himself," the editorial states.
The issue, first reported by Jonathan Martin of The New York Times, comes as conservative pundits and GOP leaders debate which of the two leading Republican candidates -- Trump and Texas Sen. Ted Cruz -- poses the greater threat to the party.
Rich Lowry, the editor of National Review, spent weeks reaching out to fellow conservatives, ranging from The Weekly Standard's William Kristol to RedState's Erick Erickson, to commission essays for the issue.

Debunked, dude. Please stop.
Yeah, didn’t realize it was fake and am being flamed.. But its all ok. :-)
Be nice to have a edit button .
I wish. :-(
Is this the same gaggle of morons who ruined Buckley’s magazine and gave us Romney and McCain?
It’s an act of love ...
Great news for Trump. This rag is far from what it once was with William F. Buckley at the helm. Now, a neo-con, open borders and multi-cultural servant to WS and global elites. Probably doesn’t even make a profit and is no threat to Trump.

Globalist scum who wrap themselves in the flag, and sneer at real Americans behind their backs.
I have nothing but contempt for them.
#NROrevolt. Live it. Love it.
Perhaps you should ask yourself why you are offended by the truth? Trump’s current political following is very fervent, and it is based upon... nothing. He has no experience, he has contradicted his on words of a few years ago many times in the past few months, and he is motivated more by a desire to show off his business acumen than he is by a desire to reverse the Democrat damage of the past decade... and yet his following on even the most conservative webpages is very strong, despite all of this. The previous poster’s point, that the baseless fervor matches that of Obama, is a valid one. So again, why are you offended by the truth?
Being against everything is a bitter pill. Who are they for and what positive actions can they point to in prefer to sway others to join their cause?
LOL! Rich Lowry, William Kristol and Erick Erickson are conservatives? That’s rich.
Uh, no.
Uh, no.
Loons. Lunes. Total Lunes. Trump will get the nomination. It’s him n or the Democrats. They apparently want to cling to their purist idiology and watch the Socialists get a third term to finish the damage Obama has done. But, they will have saved us from Trump. Pure A-Holes.
That’s a fake tweet that’s already been debunked:
So now you’ve stooped to posting lies here.
“National Review, conservative thinkers stand against Trump”
national review is an establishment organ, so their attack on Trump amounts to yet another ringing endorsement!
Fake tweet..... I like Cruz but Trump is good as well....
Buckley is an arrogant ass... As is most of the National Review crew......
Might as well quote George Will..... geez....
There is a lot to question on Trump... He appears to have evolved politically and philosophically....:
He was a businessman focused on getting results.....he allied himself with whoever could guarantee those results...
This is now different for him... He appears to be more focused on principle rather than business...
The question is, are you willing to take him at his word?
