Trump knew this would be a kill shot for Ted. He has a knack for scoping out the weak spots.

This came out earlier in the ARG poll (IA) where only 1/3 of Cruz's supporters knew he was born outside the country. I said then that when this started to set in, it would cost Cruz, and it has. He has dropped from a high in the IA DMR poll of 31 about three weeks ago to today's IA poll of 25 and again fallen behind Trump. He also fell in 4 out of the 6 subsequent OTHER IA polls, only winning one (the DMR follow up, but only by 3---down from 10) and tied in another.

Put another way, since the birth stuff came out, Cruz in IA is 1-7-1.

This would have been good to know when they decided to ram Juan McCain down our throats.

Its the same in NC and all over. The republican party in general want a President who is born in the USA. Just like the song says.

Not just born in foreign nation, but born to two citizen of that nation. Cruz’s mother and father had become Canadian citizens at the time of his birth. This is an important fact being left out of these discussions. His mother was a US citizen but she had also become a Canadian citizen by the time of his birth.

He thinks that since Levin says so and will shout down anyone who dares ask the question it is settled. I have no idea, but it sounds like you have to be born inside the US with citizen parents unless you are in the military.

Do you have a link or proof his parents were Canadian citizens at the time?

I'm so impressed by this poll that I want them to run a poll asking the same people if the dangerous chemical "dihydrogen monoxide". I bet we could get over 80% saying yes to a ban.

That is pretty funny, but it has been established that Cruz is a natural-born citizen, according to the current definition. If we want to go back later and change it to the old-school born of two American parents on American soil definition, that’s cool.

Actually, it’s likely to be what the public perceives that matters, not what the Constitution says, given that the SCOTUS won’t touch it.

That’s because 53% of GOP voters intrinsically understand the definition of natural born citizen as the founders intended it.

I don’t think the possibility of foreign infiltration into the Presidency is any more remote now than it was then. If anything, I think you could argue that it’s more relevant now than then, given the ability of money to influence elections, and the trend toward globalization of our economic and cultural affairs.

the RNC certified Cruz as eligible.

Do you have an RNC link for that?

There were a lot of shenanigans on the certification issue as it related to Obama. Can’t remember all of the details now, but whoever was doing the certifying was trying to cover their asses if it ever came back to them.

So, your post that 'the RNC HAS certified Cruz' is not correct. It should be 'the RNC CAN certify Cruz'.

Unless and until the RNC issues a statement to the effect that they have/have not certified Cruz, the issue is still an issue.

You talk about tempest in a teapot. My man Trump is a tough, motivated fighter and rightly so, but that doesn’t mean I won’t be glad to vote for Ted if it comes down to it and I bet the Donald would too.

I have no RNC link for the certifications. The RNC apparently submits them to the various states, pays the fees, files the petitions (if necessary).

I don't know that the RNC performs this service for all states, but my state GOP passed the buck as fast as you can imagine.

If you are just curious to see a certification, the secretaries of state or some election office has them. I think I've seen a few floating on the web, but I take it as an article of faith they exist, else the primaries wouldn't be conducted.

Pelosi certified NBC in only one state, Hawaii (certified on Obama's behalf).

They (Congress) all know Obama usurped the office. What you see as political leaders are actors, the fronts for the real money interests that run the country. They are pampered and well paid actors. Most of them are idiots, truly idiots. Smart people in the shadows write the legislation, and tell them how to vote.

Obama is an actor. He has handlers. This group of people, Congress and the executive, is contemptible. They KNOW ineligibility, they KNEW IT with Obama, and they pawned off a fiction on the public.

"Shenanigans" is mild. Too mild. If the people wake up, there will be pitchforks and torches in Washington.

Yet we allow people born in Miami to be U.S. citizens.
