Trump: Karl Rove's "Hatred" Of Me Is "Like A Boiler Waiting To Explode"
RCP ^ | 1/20/16 | RCP

Posted on 01/20/2016 8:01:23 PM PST by jimbo123

Donald Trump ripped Karl Rove at a campaign rally in Tulsa, Oklahoma this afternoon that featured former Gov. Sarah Palin.

TRUMP: Karl Rove, this guy he predicted -- he thinks Romney won the election. Remember? Romney won. He won. I'm telling you. They had to take him off the air in a basket.

If he was anchored in the constitution I’d agree with you. He isn’t.

DB, you don’t quite get it.
We do not have a Constitution any more than ancient Rome still exists.
The Constitution is gone - it has not been followed by either party for years.
Trump will follow the Constitution when elected, because he’ll find the right legal advisers, AG, Supreme Court picks, etc.... at least we hope so.
But you want/expect a candidate in this day and age to run a campaign based on a document that nobody cares about any more?

Look, don’t shoot the messenger. It’s not that I’m not a Constitutionalist. It is just that our country, the people of this country, have degraded so far that the Constitution means as little to them as it means to their elected representatives.

Sorry, we must accept the consequences of the last 25 years. It’s not the USA that elected Reagan. It’s much dumber.

At least trump had the good sense to keep the subsidies flowing into Iowa. He needs to take the state

Trump will actually come around to Rove

I hope not. Rove is an a$$hole who supports amnesty and open borders.

If the constitution doesn’t return, neither will America.

So either it is the core principle or isn’t.

I see very little interest to the constitution from Trump. For Trump “security” overrides the 4th amendment. That’s recent - not “old news”. When he ran as the Reform Party candidate he ran on banning “assault” weapons, whatever those are.

Correct. So is that Rove’s fault or Free Republic’s fault?

If illegal and mass migration are not stopped, if the Muslim Brotherhood is not rooted out of the government... there is no hope, period.
Yes we need to fix these problems Constitutionally and legally, but we have to FIX THESE PROBLEMS!
Running on a vague “Constitutional” ticket is not going to cut it, not if you want to actually win the election.
Follow the Constitution, follow the law - FIX THE PROBLEMS.

And that’s why I’m voting for Trump. It’s common sense, really.

I hope he does what you think he will. I see no evidence of it.

Rove didn’t change.

Trump won’t have changed either.

Lessons aren’t learned very well. Too bad the price is so high.

Much as I like Cruz, that’s pretty much what is gonna happen. Trump will pull the blue collar disaffected.

“So you buy the new Trump as of this election cycle and not the old Trump of the previous 30+ years. Why?”

I trust Trump’s conversion more than I trust Cruz’s very recent conversion from teddy bears and legalization. The beginning of his campaign, he refused to discuss illegals at all - which made me suspicious. Then when he was forced to, he was vague.

Only after Trump led the way, took the arrows - did Cruz see it was a winning position and followed Trump.

I don’t trust any of that. And illegal immigration is my #1 position, having just escaped 2 border states. They are ruined. And I want my new home in the US to stay this way.

I am a supporter of Trump, though I prefer Cruz. I’m just hoping that at some point Trump gets a little more statesmanlike in his attacks.
