Conservative Review Editor-in-Chief Mark Levin explained why Donald Trump, the supposed anti-establishment candidate, is siding with the establishment on the ethanol mandate. It has everything to do with trying to pander for votes.
Levin explained what crony capitalism is. That it is the state picking winners at the expense of others. In the case of ethanol they have made it mandatory in cars, even though it is proven that it does not reduce oil usage, because oil is needed for the production of ethanol. That it hurts engines.
The most damaging thing that ethanol does, according to Levin is add to famine and poverty in the third world, by limiting the production of food crops, as the land is used to grow ethanol feedstock instead of food.
Levin focused on the fact that Donald Trump is going all in for ethanol to pander to Governor Terry Branstad in Iowa. He told his audience that Branstad's son makes a living from the ethanol industry.

How DARE Ted Cruz work against all the conservative farmers out there that depend on Ethanol to make a living, in this bad economy????
(Am I being sarcastic or not, you figure that out)
Ted might lose Iowa over his principles on ethanol. Is it worth it?
The establishment is going all in for Trump.
It appears that he made a deal. LOL
I have turned him off, Don’t need to hear more Trump bashing!
It also gives the Congress and lobbyists 5 years in which to reinstate the subsidy as a rider in whatever bill Cruz wants passed. There's no guarantee the subsidy would be going anywhere. Just politics as usual.
he’s gotten so shrill these days that soon only dogs will be able to hear him.
We have two gas stations within 2 miles of my house that sell non-ethanol gas.
I don’t see how it’s mandated if some stations sell it... The public doesn’t have to buy the crap gas if they don’t want to.
It’s not for me, because I know that Iowa ethanol subsidies is about 327th on my list of things I really am concerned about.
No I don’t want them. Now, can we get back to serious talk?
Cruz wants to phase it out over five years, kick it down the road and forget about it. You would think Levin could do better. Cruz is on the same page as Trump, just uses different font.
You still have Savage.
My vote isn’t going to turn on ethanol, just so you know.
I hate it in my engines, but it isn’t going to make me pick or not pick a presidential candidate in 2016.
Same page, right.
I don’t like ethanol either and unless Trump’s plans call for a new car in every garage, then he’ll have to build my garage (I don’t have one), make sure it has a big beautiful door on it, AND put an ethanol tolerant (read:NEW) vehicle in it because the government doesn’t pay me enough to eat, much less dip into luxuries.
He’ll also have to cover the registration taxes, and insurance unless he wants to increase my monthly allowance by an additional tax-free $2,000.00/month, and that’s unlikely.
This is one area I do disagree with Trump on.
As it is, I’m still trying to figure out why gasoline here is a buck a gallon more than every place else... for the ethanol variety even! And barrels are selling for $10 bux? Maybe I’m purchasing my gasoline from the wrong place. QT needs to shop around for better prices lol!
Ha ha.

Levin and Beck should be teaming up pretty soon. I know Cruz is kissing up to Beck now. So much fun in kooky land.
Who cares? the ethanol mandated content in gas is such a small issue compared to all the rest.
So if that’s what’s needed to win the republican nomination (pandering to Iowa and its governor) so be it.
After 4 years, a wall, no sanctuary cities, a safe zone in Syria, with all current Syrian refugees ejected from the US and relocated back to Syria, a few factories relocated back to the US... then Trump can circle back and say... hey what is this? I didn’t realize that ethanol is actually harmful to car engines.. and stomp on it.
And even if he doesn’t.. who cares, I would still be happy.
Yeah, on this issue Cruz is no different than Trump, but of course I’m sure Levin gives Cruz a pass on his little “technicality”.
