It also gives the Congress and lobbyists 5 years in which to reinstate the subsidy as a rider in whatever bill Cruz wants passed. There's no guarantee the subsidy would be going anywhere. Just politics as usual.
Yeah, on this issue Cruz is no different than Trump, but of course I’m sure Levin gives Cruz a pass on his little “technicality”.
Ted operates like that. Sneaky all the time. He is the consummate fence straddler.
Five years from now we may not have a country and we are supposed to worry about ethanol? LOL
I think it should be an optional additive to when we buy gas. If I don’t want it in my gas, I shouldn’t need it...
Cruz favors ending the subsidy in 5 years. Note that it would be a full year after a first term ended so technically, Cruz wouldn’t be ending the subsidy either.

More misdirection and lies by omission. Cruz wants the mandates PHASED OUT OVER 5 YEARS. For you TRUMP (BLESS HIS SOUL) supporters in Rio Linda, that means that the mandate starts at 100% of current level, after one year it drops to 80%, after two years to 60%, after three years to 40%, after four years to 20% and after five years it drops to ZERO Percent and ends. Free enterprise and personal choice rule instead of government mandates. The reason for PHASING it out is to give involved folks time to adjust their business models and mechanical equipment.
TRUMP (PEACE BE UPON HIM) instead wants to CONTINUE THE DEMOCRATS’ GOVERNMENT MANDATES AND DECREES IN PERPETUITY and have it enforced by HIS government bureaucrats.

What an astoundingly unthinking statement.
Congress can change anything, anytime -- whether it's cancelled completely now or in five years. Sit down for a minute, calm down, and consider how shallow your thought was.
No, each of those five years ethanol subsidies and mandates are cut. It is a phase out plan to allow the industry to adjust to the independence of running their industry without tax dollars and the regulations that go with them.

Exactly. A year into POTUS Cruz’s second term. This is a punt. Obvious beltway slickster flim flam like one of Ryan’s 25 year budgets or the perennially renewed “doc fix”. Sorry, not buying this one Tricky Teddy.
Of course, Ted has so many friends and has such a great record after all his years in the Senate, he'll have no problem enlisting support to end the subsidy, right ?
