OLYMPIA-The Washington State Patrol is investigating threats against Rep. Matt Shea.
Kyle Moore, a spokesman for the patrol, confirmed Friday the agency's Spokane District has 'an open and active case' involving threats against the Spokane Valley Republican, but he could not give further details because of procedural rules......
Shea declined to comment to the newspaper.
"Rep. Shea received a very threatening voice mail this week. It's being taken very seriously," according to his legislative spokesman, who said he couldn't comment further.
On Facebook posts, Shea said he received a death threat Jan. 12 after articles were published in The Spokesman-Review about his trip to the Malheur National Wildlife Refuge, which is being occupied by an armed group advocating that some federal land be turned over to the residents. Shea wrote he received more threats Jan. 13.
"The articles...have incited these violent threats against me and my family," Shea wrote. "Therefore, I demand a retraction and apology of the Spokesman-Review for putting me and my family in danger."
In another post, Shea wrote "the 'peaceful tolerant' Democrat supporters are at it again now with threatening my family."......

Now he had gotten death threats.
Shea is pointing a finger at media reporting about his visit
Some angry lefties out there, I suspect.
Shea was also in Idaho last summer to support a disabled vet whose guns were being taken away by feds. Libs don't like activism supporting the constitution.
I hope he is well armed.
The person making the threats will probably receive an invite to the WH.
They hate the Tea Party, of course. That’s another reason for the death threats against Matt Shea.
The Constitution caucus in the House will probably get word about theses threats. Wonder if they will do anything?

I SMELL THE CHICAGO WAY.
This story is from the state of WA and involves a state legislator who does business in Olympia, WA (the State Capital) and his home district in the Spokane, WA area.
Matt Shea is concerned about federal government overreach in state and local matters and that brought him to visit the occupation south of Burns, Oregon last weekend along with other state legislators from WA, OR and ID.
Thought Shea was a U.S. Congressman! I am sure he has a lot of support from the many Constitutional conservatives in the U.S. Congress. This issue crosses state lines.
The message from Republican Congressman Greg Walden of OR, whose district includes the site of the occupation State Representative Shea visited, was that the occupation over land rights and the imprisonment of local ranchers should end.
Shea has not taken Walden’s position and he gets the death threats for it.
It sounds like he's a gun owner. Hopefully now he has a concealed carry permit.
Threatening an elected official and his or her family is never a good idea.
Probably an employee of BLM of course as predetermined they would deny any knowledge of such activity so follow the money who is it that gets the next big promotion with a huge raise... /S conspiracy theory sarcasm!
Not #BLM but the other fascist government organization The Bureau of Land Management! Not /S
Yep. I see them on twitter wanting the wildlife refuge blown up or burned down. Very violent minded liberal fascists.
Oregon ping
FBI is investigating and protecting his family.
Yes they are, and if they could they would eliminate anyone who disagreed with them. That’s the tolerant left for you.
Liberal fascism. It’s the new way to turn the country communist.
