Today on CNN's State of the Nation, Jake Tapper revisited an old question with Donald Trump. He asked him about his faith and specifically about if he had ever asked forgiveness. By my count this is the third time that Trump has been asked the question.

At he Family Leadership Summit in Ames, Iowa, back in June:

Trump, who told CNN earlier that he is both anti-abortion and anti-same-sex marriage, said people are surprised to learn about his Christian faith.

"People are so shocked when they find ... out I am Protestant. I am Presbyterian. And I go to church and I love God and I love my church," he said.

Moderator Frank Luntz asked Trump whether he has ever asked God for forgiveness for his actions.

"I am not sure I have. I just go on and try to do a better job from there. I don't think so," he said. "I think if I do something wrong, I think, I just try and make it right. I don't bring God into that picture. I don't."

Trump said that while he hasn't asked God for forgiveness, he does participate in Holy Communion.

"When I drink my little wine -- which is about the only wine I drink -- and have my little cracker, I guess that is a form of asking for forgiveness, and I do that as often as possible because I feel cleansed," he said. "I think in terms of 'let's go on and let's make it right.'"

As an aside, Trump has both supported partial birth abortion and just this weekend floated naming a pro-abort as his vice-presidential choice.

In an interview with Anderson Cooper in July:

questioning a persons faith.

Would Cruz himself be so mean spirited?

No but Trump would. After all he’s the one who wanted everyone who voted to remember that not many Cubans were Evangelical Christians, as if Cruz was lying about his faith.

Seems like a pretty shameless attack, but if you’re the type to believe that you don’t ever need God’s forgiveness as Trump does, you clearly don’t have a lot of shame.

I was observing that it was mean spirited of MeshugeMikey to question someone else’s faith. After all who can tell what is in someone’s soul?

And IIRC, he was also the one who mocked Trump a day or two ago for his pro-life stance.

Because of these things it’s not unreasonable to ask if Cruz himself is as mean spirited as MeshugeMikey

If we say, “We are without sin,” we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we acknowledge our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive our sins and cleanse us from every wrongdoing. If we say, “We have not sinned,” we make him a liar, and his word is not in us. - 1 John 1:8-10

If Donald Trump has never asked for forgiveness, he has never received it. It is IMPOSSIBLE to be a Christian if you have never asked God for forgiveness.

What Trump described is not bribery. Money was not exchanged for a specific agreed upon act. Trump called it the broken system. Put any corporation’s name in place of Trumo’s and any politician’s name and that it what is broken.

From Wikipedia dwfinition:

"Bribery is the act of giving money , goods or other forms of recompense to a recipient in exchange for an alteration of their behavior (to the benefit/interest of the giver) that the recipient would otherwise not alter. Bribery is defined by Black's Law Dictionary as the offering, giving, receiving, or soliciting of any item of value to influence the actions of an official or other person in charge of a public or legal duty.

From his own mouth, "when I needed them, they did things" upon providing compensation to their campaign or causes. Sure sounds like bribery to me. The system is only broken when he and the politicians he has bribed haven't gone to prison. Unwillingness to prosecute a crime doesn't make it any less of a crime.

Their must be a specific act or series of acts agreed upon to constitute bribery. If you gave Cruz a donation to his campaign, it is not bribery and no different tha what Trump did.

If you don’t know the difference between a campaign contribution and bribing a politician for policies that are favorable or contribute to financial gain, you might just be a DUmocrat!

Please note the word EXCHANGED in the article. One party gave money to the others campaign in exchange for the other party doing a specific favor.

Unless you find that Trump and X politician exchanged money for a specific favor you are just guessing.

No. There has to be an exchange of both promises BEFORE the donation is given.

You are judge, jury and mind reader. But more judicious minds than you with power to go after him have not.

Fantasize on.

"Judicious minds" like those he's already bought? I watched the video from the first debate... Bret Baer asked the question. Chispy Cream and several others took some bribes...Jebbie chimed in wondering why he got left out. Someone asked "what did Nancy Pelosi do for you?" But your okay with your candidate funding LIEbetrals like Harry Reid and Natzi Pelosi or $250K for the Clinton Foundation?

Your mind seems undisciplined. The only issue on the table is what is bribery.

Nope, Trump's LIEberalism runs the gamut.... He's been wrong on every issue - even recently had to modify his statements, and only the kool-aid drinkers haven't noticed he has far too many contradictory statements to be taken seriously.

The rest are DUmocrat shills on his payroll.

It seems the Trumpettes are willing to take on that risky wager as long as we get another closet LIEberal in office to keep the bribes and kickbacks rolling.
