Wall Street will react to this news on Monday.Chinese banks no longer will accept stocks as loan collateral, and the European markets are as bad as ours. This year could be the worst ever for the American economy.

CNBC and Zero Hedge are predicting bad recessions worse than 2008.

People that aren’t prepared to be self sufficient are in for a very bad time.My plans to be able to go off grid for 3 years plus are nearly complete.I just need storage space for 2000 more gallons of diesel fuel.

Well, it could be lower than 0.6 - so, sure 0.5 would be terrible....

Yes agreed. We have been working on it for about 7 years. We are in fairly good shape.

My problem is where do I go? I could buy some crappy land out in the middle of nowhere and put a trailer on it. But I’d also have to drill a water well and install a septic system. And there would be no doctors anywhere around.

Living where there is no people would be fine with me. But that’s really the problem. Nobody knows anyone. We’re all strangers. The internet did it.
To: VerySadAmerican
no, it happened before the Internet. It happened a long time ago. It is the result of people being self-centered and caring only about “me” and being, in general, a low information population. I know there are neighborhoods and communities that are exceptions, but IMO it was not the Internet. I actually think the Internet has allowed like-minded people to become less of strangers to each other, like right here on FR.
