Rudy Giuliani: Ted Cruz’s view of New York’s ‘values’ completely ignores city’s strength
NY Daily News ^

After all we have been through as a city and as one undivided nation, to have a United States senator running for President paint New York as a city consumed with greed, sin and media obsession is shocking. Sen. Ted Cruz should apologize to the people of New York for his remarks and to the people of the United States for his crass attempt to divide us. And whatever our inclinations in the presidential race, all of us should be proud of Donald Trump's strong, truthful and eloquent defense of our great city and nation.

As the late, great New Yorker, Sen. Daniel Patrick Moynihan, made clear in his authoritative analysis of the federal budget, every year New York sends billions of dollars more to Washington, D.C., than Washington sends to us. And one of the reasons for that is Wall Street, the financial engine that makes all the programs we support, Republican, Democrat and bi-partisan, possible. When Sen. Cruz and so many of the other candidates of both parties come to New York City, they seem pretty happy to be here and are more than willing to take our money.

Well if you're willing to take our money, then show us the respect we deserve and earned and don't try to divide us from our fellow Americans.

“Ted was right on, and his line was calculated to make the Southerners supporting trump to pause.

Smart.”

No it is not. Look at Trump’s rallies in the South like Pensacola Florida. This will not hurt Trump. Cruz just attacked everyone in New York State in an attempt to get at Trump. He did no harm to Trump but alienated a lot of people.

I see TPA Teddy has sharpened his jab at NY. It’s no longer “New York values” but now “New York City values”. I wonder if that includes Cruz affiliated Goldman Sachs who were fined $15 million yesterday for shady dealing?

Cruz took himself out of the race when he attacked an entire state. He will never recover.

Is that why Main Street bails out Wall Street when they eff up?

Wall Street is now the engine of crony capitalism, and the enemy of Main Street.

Cruz is worried about that clearly. Today he’s talking about “New York City” values.

No worries. Cruz has lots of ammo. And plenty of dry powder.

At least here on FR we actually DO have conservative New Yorkers posting. How many (aside from the owner) chime in here from San Francisco - that other bastion of ungodliness, lol.

LMAO! Cruz gave up votes in a state he was never going to win, while picking up support in states that don't share the values that New York is known for: Wall Street bailouts, high taxes, huge governments, lousy public schools, etc. You know, trickle down government.

“No it is not. Look at Trump’s rallies in the South like Pensacola Florida. This will not hurt Trump. “

Being from the South and having worked for 6 years in NY, I believe I can confidently say that what Ted did is not just smart, but very smart.

Like I said, he will cause Southerners who believe in social conservative values to pause and rethink the Trump vote. Trump is not a social conservative, and Republicans have forgotten that is a more important constituency than fiscal conservatism.

I prefer Christie as AG as he would clean the filthy stench of Holder/Lynch.
