After all we have been through as a city and as one undivided nation, to have a United States senator running for President paint New York as a city consumed with greed, sin and media obsession is shocking. Sen. Ted Cruz should apologize to the people of New York for his remarks and to the people of the United States for his crass attempt to divide us. And whatever our inclinations in the presidential race, all of us should be proud of Donald Trump's strong, truthful and eloquent defense of our great city and nation.
As the late, great New Yorker, Sen. Daniel Patrick Moynihan, made clear in his authoritative analysis of the federal budget, every year New York sends billions of dollars more to Washington, D.C., than Washington sends to us. And one of the reasons for that is Wall Street, the financial engine that makes all the programs we support, Republican, Democrat and bi-partisan, possible. When Sen. Cruz and so many of the other candidates of both parties come to New York City, they seem pretty happy to be here and are more than willing to take our money.
Well if you're willing to take our money, then show us the respect we deserve and earned and don't try to divide us from our fellow Americans.

Go Rudy....How I would love him for governor. Sign me...an Upstate New Yorker
You can post 100 people saying the same thing. We knew what Teddy meant if you did not.
New York sucks, and 80% of the country agrees with that assessment. Heck, even western and upstate New Yorkers think that it sucks.
9/11 was a unique event. Ted Cruz does not understand the big picture in this case.
It does suck. And the giant sucking sound continues as Cuomo funnels all the cash downstate.
Teddy?
New York, and NYC in particular, have consistently voted democrat in presidential elections for decades. Obviously, whatever their values are, they don’t coincide with conservative or Republican values. I don’t have a problem with Cruz pointing that out.
Rudy, your a great guy, but NY / NYC has kicked you out
and disowned you.
Senator Cruz should have said New York liberals or New York politicians.
"Nope....no values in there, Rudy!"
That would have been fine with me if he had done that. But he didn’t because he was attacking Trump who is neither a NY liberal or a NY pol. He generalized therefore and got egg on his face.
You knew Rudy was going to weigh in. However, in today’s New York City DiCommio would beat Rudy in a landslide mayoral election outcome. It’s that bad there.
Let them think what they want as the world passes them by.
It’s a shame, but they are willfully ignorant.
It’s not what they think. It’s what the populace thinks. They can spin for Ted here, and think that’s accomplishing something, but that doesn’t mean squat in the real world.
Talk about your cults of personality.
if you’re an upstate New Yorker, then you know that upstate NY hasn’t got a damned thing in common with most NY values.....you are now a Bloomberg bot too I guess. A Schumer bot? A Senator Clinton bot? A De Blasio bot? THOSE are NY values.....have at it.
It was not an effective attack. Cruz angered and alienated a lot of people for no reason.
it is you who dosn’t understand the big picture. The big picture is 9-11 only has one thing in common with NY Values....and that is, the politicians NY voited for gutted our intelligence agencies.....THATS a NY 9-11 value....a causal value.
And the big picture is that NY values are Schumer, Clinton, De Blasio, Peter King, etc etc....you know, those great conservatives...
no, you should be smart enough to know he meant NY poltiical values....
And the more you keep talking about it, the more milage Cruz is getting out of it.
