The young Navy lieutenant who apologized to the Iranians after U.S. boats entered Iranâs territory has been identified as Lt. David Nartker.
The 27-year-old grew up in Chicago and now lives in Ohio. Videos on his Facebook page show him firing weapons.

Nartker was among the 10 U.S. sailors who were captured by Iran earlier this week. The sailors were later released.
But he found himself at the center of an international uproar after Iran released footage showing an interrogator haranguing him about being in Iranian waters.
âIt was a mistake,â Nartker is heard responding. âIt was our fault and we apologize for our mistake.â
On Sean Hannity's show on Fox on Wednesday, there were questions over whether the apology could be a violation of the U.S. Military code of conduct.
But former Navy SEAL Chris Heban told INSIDE EDITION: "It is quite possible they were coerced or threatened into an apology. It certainly doesn't make us look good."
The Iranians also released images of his crew kneeling in submission with their hands locked behind their heads. A female sailor was forced to cover her head in keeping with Muslim law.
Senator John McCain, who lived through six years of torture as a P.O.W. in Vietnam, did not hide his anger at the âhumiliatingâ incident.
âThis is one hell of a propaganda coup,â he said.

Do some of you people (not you) need a freaking picture drawn for you?
I’ve been there - it was long ago, but their tactics haven’t changed much I’m sure. It is possible - even probable - that there were more than three Boston Whalers (which is the IRGC’s favorite craft to modify) involved. They take the boats and put mounts for all sorts of weapons on them including missiles and rocket launchers... And they prefer to attack in “swarms” with large numbers of the highly-modifed craft.
My questions are: How do you get that far off course on a trip from Kuwait to Bahrain? You’d have to be WAY off course to find yourself even *near* the Iranian Exclusion Zone. And how do you let a swarm of small boats sneak up on you without issuing calls for help over both encrypted and channel 16 on bridge-to-bridge?
To then allow them to take the boats without skuttling comms, crypto, nav, and weapons systems - followed by apologizing to their interrogator?
Sheesh...
Thank you! Why is that so hard for some of these apologists to grasp?
Just like Benghazi.. Another 'stand down'. America is no longer the world's superpower. 0blama wants IRAN to be.
The female soldier had to wear a head scarf. It could have been worse. I caught only part of the segment on Carr today.
I saw a photo on FNC this morning. The U.S. female was forced to put on Muslim clothing for the picture. I think Judge Napolitano said the Iranians broke Geneva Conventions rules in two ways: (1) Photos of prisoners cannot show them being humiliated, and (2) prisoners cannot be made to wear garb of the opposing country. (Paraphrased)
“”Trump was in a video’’ BIOYA
We are already at war with Iran, but they are the only side fighting.
Thanks!
It’s been 45 years since my class on duties of an American POW but I recall being taught to say as little as possible.Unless this officer had orders from a superior to do what he did I wonder if he could be brought up on charges.
Maybe they were loaded up with new furniture for Obama’s new place at the Palm Jumeirah in Qatar.
Ya, heard something like that. So is it true? Lost? A Navy ship lost? Both of them with GPS/Locater? A Navy ship is never lost, it’s where it wants to be.
I agree. Sure seems like something is very fishy here, seems like the sailors had a great capability of fighting.
Now, whether or not this is actually the case, all that matters is where they were at, not how they ended up there. If they were in Iranian territory, then I think the proper course of action is exactly what they did. I don't think a publicly broadcast apology was proper from a sailor, but... that's another topic.
Escalating the situation could have gotten really ugly in a lot of ways. We can't be operating military equipment in their territory without permission unless we are committed to a full scale military operation. Yea, it leaves a lot of egg on our faces, but we have to be more careful than that. We are supposed to be a superpower.
And again, this is all to assume we were operating in their territory. If they tried to board our vessels in international waters, well, then game on. Sometimes it's hard to swallow the pill, but if we screwed up, we have to own it.
I also believe this would have never happened at all if it weren't for the current policies and directives of obama. The attitude is correct, these cretins aren't even scared of us anymore. They know there will be no consequences.
I served in the military. We were trained to only give our serial numbers. This is a new military now. Someone gave orders. Is it a coincidence that the Iranian deal was happening the next day? Iran used this tape for propaganda
to show the U.S. military is weak.
Both boats had mechanical issues? Both were lost? Both had navigational systems go down? One boat couldn’t tow the other one? The whole incident doesn’t pass the smell test. Give it a couple of weeks before the full true and complete story is out; and not the liberal MSM version either.
3 and a half years after Benghazi and we still do not know WHO gave the order to stand down! Doubtful we will ever know who gave the order to stand down yesterday...But someone, in both cases, obviously did.
Does anyone know how many ot the boats were returned?
