'Just fed up w objectification of women in media'
A sports writer and New York Times best-selling author named Jeff Pearlman was pushed into a quasi-apology after saying, via Twitter, Fox News female correspondents dressed as "hookers," per order of their bosses.
He posted, alongside a photo of the female crew of Fox's well-watched "Outnumbered" this text: "Serious question: do women on Fox News get extra money for dressing as hookers? Just embarrassing."
In another tweet, Pearlman wrote: "Just fed up w objectification of women in media. It's tired, old, widespread, not cool. #done."
As Mediaite found, another named Steve Krakauer, @SteveKrak, weighed in with criticism: "@jeffpearlman Calling journalists 'hookers' is precisely the objectification of women you're talking about."
And Pearlman's response: "@SteveKrak Steve, I did NOT call the women hookers. I said Fox News has its women dress like them. Which it does. Degrades women journalists."
It wasn't long before another jumped in the fray, asking "@jeffpearlman a skirt makes you a hooker? thats the equivalent of calling you a lifeguard if you wear a red bathing suit," Mediaite found.
Pearlman said his only point was to out the network for "treat[ing] women like objects," which he said via tweet was "a disgrace to legit women reporters."
He went on, in another Twitter post: "Let me re-phrase: are tons of women journalists busting asses w skill, doggedness, professionalism. Fox News CLEARLY after looks, wardrobe."
Ultimately, Pearlman retreated a bit.
He wrote: "Ok, I admit, bad Tweet, removed. I just really object to Fox News' approach. But that's not the on-air person's fault."

Well, I’m fascinated with fashion and people’s personas and am annoyed with Fox’s confusion about sex, news and what’s pretty and appropriate. They’ve been striking out in recent years.
Twitchy dug up his own tweets and he's been going on about "hookers" for a long time. He's gone after Fox network women in the past as well. He releases his misogynous bile that way so it doesn't build up too much and assumes that people will give him a pass because he's on the liberal side.
He's a strange guy. He goes on and on about how athletes are jerks making a jerk of himself in the process. He thinks of himself as a righteous scourge of the overpaid and obnoxious, but at some point, he crosses a line and is just insulting anybody he doesn't like. People get fed up and attack him. He insults them and then complains about what they've said about him. It's pretty typical. The guy who is forever going on about what a-holes people are usually is one himself.

No need to dress like a man.
Vive la difference!
“Yea, that’s what I tell my wife!”
I just watch it for the articles.
It was weird....I’m sitting in the jury box, the Son of Baraq at the defendant’s table (triple murder one, and drug dealing, weapons possession) and here she is prancing around in that outfit.
I didn’t mind the eyeful, it just made the circumstance peculiar.
He was a frequent contributor to ESPN.com's Page 2, then as a columnist for SI.com. No stranger to controversy, Pearlman used his own website as a forum to call out the overzealous missionary goals of Tim Tebow's father as "pretty evil." In the fall of 2007, Pea....
“That is why it is called the Fox network.”.......
Finally, some gets it.
Thanks.
Most of them dress like high priced call girls. I never saw any woman dressed like that where I worked.
Of course where I worked the lunch discussion usually centered around lap band vs. gastric bypass.

Latent homosexuality in sportswriting -- it's tired, old, widespread, not 'cool' #done.

The kind I like...
So does; most high school cheerleaders, collegiate cheerleaders, professional cheerleaders, most women in beer commercials, most women at the beach, most women fashion models... and the list goes on and on. It’s fact of life, though I agree it should not be, the fact remains, sex sells... even in the news rooms... even in the Christmas Story “The soft glow of electric sex gleaming in the window”. Now, Jesus said, you have committed Adultery even if you look at a woman with lust in your heart... we’ve all sinned I’m afraid, and yes the FOX women could tone it down a bit.
High class ones, though.
I just really object to Fox News’ approach. But that’s not the on-air person’s fault.”

Really? It’s not the fault of the woman who dresses like a tramp? Does someone hold a gun to the bimbo’s heads?
