Donald Trump struck back at South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley, after she criticized the Republican presidential front-runner in her State of the Union rebuttal, and added that she's not "off to a good start" if she wants to be considered for his running mate.
"She's very weak on illegal immigration," the billionaire businessman said on Fox News' "Fox & Friends" on Wednesday. "I feel very strongly about immigration. She doesn't."
In her response Tuesday, Haley called for a stop to "stopping illegal immigration," but also "welcoming properly vetted legal immigrants, regardless of their race or religion."
"No one who is willing to work hard, abide by our laws, and love our traditions should ever feel unwelcome in this country," she said.
She said Wednesday on CNN that she was addressing Trump when she made a comment on "the angriest voices" in the Republican Party in her response.
Haley has previously attacked Trump for proposing a temporary ban on admitting Muslim to the U.S.
But Trump said Haley had no problem with him when she needed his money.
"She certainly has no trouble asking me for campaign contributions," he said. "It's sort of interesting to hear her. If I weren't running, she'd probably be in my office asking for money."

SLAP THE BITCH TRUMP!
Trump: she’s not “off to a good start” if she wants to be considered for his running mate...PING
She seems to me to be a hyphenated American more interested in professing what her parents’ origins were than the American she should be. She can go screw herself.
Quite possibly the first time a political party attacked it’s front runner in an election and called it the “rebuttal” to the opposition party speech. Pathetic!
No way he is picking her now.
I think Sessions might be the one.
I don’t think Cruz will be unless he asks for a declaratory judgement.

Exactly!! Trump shiould highlight this and say that he wants to preserve America’s brilliance by restoring and keeping its traditions, not watering them down with multi-cultural appeasment.
The Trumpies are trumpeting.
That party doesn’t even realize they’ve lost their base - possibly for generations.
As far as I’m concerned I just call it the Republican Wing of the Democratic Party.

We don’t need any more race pimps. Trump wants America great, again, for EVERYONE, regardless of race, who’s willing to work at it.
It’s looking more and more like that.
She was a disgrace and only did the bidding of the left.
Funny how she attacks him , sorry she attacks millions of us voters and then has asked for his money for her election.
The eye-brow reps and blazing teeth were a little too much. I’d take Sara Palin’s accent from 8 years ago over the annoying facial expressions I saw from Nicki last night.
When they attack Trump or Cruz they are also attacking million s of us voters and then wonder why we hate them
One must look to find the woman’s love of AMERICA. We need much, much better for GREAT AMERICANS. She is not Southern nor by any means is she considered to be AMERICAN. Totally destroying the history of our great country is not an attribute.
Nikki Haley - NO WAY, Jose
So, high on some VP lists, guess she is out
But, they might kiss and make up later.
If I were Trump, I would consider her strongly. A little beauty never hurt any ticket.
[I donât think Cruz will be unless he asks for a declaratory judgement.]
Cruz had the perfect opportunity to get this resolved and put behind him handed to him on a silver platter by Trump before the Democrats could.
Instead, he sh*ts the bed and posts “jump the shark” pictures and whines about Trump having his name on the side of a plane like some liberal engaging in class warfare.
And more and more those voters are going to overlook the flaws in Trump and realize that the only hope is to get behind, despite their personal misgivings about Trump.
A few months ago, I thought the idea of Trump was ludicrous, but as they say, sometimes you have to judge a man by the enemies he makes, and Trump makes the right enemies.
