Now that he has raised questions about Sen. Ted Cruz's (R-TX) Canadian birth and American citizenship, Donald Trump has started playing Bruce Springsteen's "Born in the USA" before campaign rallies, according to reports in The Weekly Standard and the Texas Tribune.

The introduction of the song may be an attempt by the real estate mogul to troll Cruz as many openly wonder whether he is eligible to run for president.

Cruz was born in Canada, but his mother was an American citizen, earning Cruz citizenship in the United States at birth. The Texas senator has repeatedly said that he is eligible to run for president.

Exactly. The issue will never be be "cleared up" as long as Trump is running for President. Some Trumpbots on the internet will always twist facts to "prove" Cruz "is not a natural born citizen" regardless of what anyone else says or does. Even if SCOTUS ruled 9-0 that Cruz is a NBC, they'd immediately start a whisper campaign that Scalia, Alito, etc. must have been "blackmailed" to "vote against the intent of the framers" and that "this clearly unconstitutional ruling will be overturned by Congress the second that Cruz gets the nomination"

The ONLY way the issue will be "cleared up" to the satification of Trump supporters is if Cruz drops out and throws his support to Trump.

Amusingly, I've seen several Trumpbots threaten Cruz supporters that unless Cruz "clears up" the issue (e.g. drops out and endorses Trump) it will prevent him from the priviledge of being "Trump's running mate".
