Vice President Joe Biden sat down for an interview with CNN's Gloria Borger on Monday to continue the Obama administration's anti-gun publicity tour promoting the president's latest unconstitutional executive orders regulating firearms.
Said Biden, "People who are criminals shouldn't have guns. People who are schizophrenic and have mental illnesses shouldn't have guns."
But that's not what the Second Amendment says.
It says: "A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed."
The exchange began when Borger asked Biden: "So does Bernie Sanders has to change position on gun manufacturers in order to have your support and you out there campaigning for him, should he be the nominee?"
Sanders, from gun-friendly Vermont, has been taking flak for not signing onto the Democrat gun control agenda during Obama's publicity tour. Hillary Clinton has been pounding poor Bernie on the issue as she has little else to outflank his progressivism.
Biden replied to Borger's question, "No, [what] Bernie Sanders has to do is say the Second Amendment says which he has of late, the Second Amendment says you can limit who can own a gun. That people who are criminals shouldn't have guns. People who are schizophrenic and have mental illnesses shouldn't have guns and he has said that."
And in a little smack to Hillary and Obama, Biden said he is "okay" with Sanders' position on the Second Amendment.
Borger did not correct Biden's reading of the Second Amendment.
Sure, we all know that that’s what “shall not be infringed” means.
Slow Joe can’t read.
If the presumption is that no right can ever be limited by the government, then you had best close all the prisons/jails and send everyone home.
The issue is not whether rights can be taken away, of course they can be and must be; the issue is “due process”.
To take the position that no one, no matter their actions, can have their rights restricted is to lose the argument before it begins. When a person is convicted of murder and thrown in prison, every fundamental right they have is being restricted, perhaps even their right to life.
This reminds me of the person who is claiming the "naturalization act of 1790" says who doesn't need to be naturalized.

I don’t have a problem with that. Certain people should *not* have guns. Felons, psychos, etc....
the people have a right to bear arms for the defense of themselves and their own state, or the United States, or for the purpose of killing game; and no law shall be passed for disarming the people or any of them, unless for crimes committed, or real danger of public injury from individuals
There's never been any question that the Right to Keep and Bear can be removed - for an individual, through due process, because of the proven criminal acts of that individual.
I’d sure keep firearms out of Slow-Joe’s hands.

Ok let me get this straight the constitutional amendment which guarantees our right to bear arms can be limited, but the made up right to an abortion that is not even in the constitution can’t be limited?

What is scary is the people who voted for these two dummies..
If Hillary! or any Democrat becomes president we will have a Supreme Court who will read the constitution the same way that slow Joe reads it. If that happens there will be no more second amendment.
The Second Amendment says, in part, “a well-regulated militia, being essential to the Security of a free State...”
Well, we’ve been focusing on the right of the people to bear arms, which is in the following words, but I’d like to point out that the well-regulated militia part has been stomped out of existence. Community security in all forms has been professionalized and outsourced, and any true militia organizations thoroughly suppressed.
Oh, now we’re going to see a Democrat delving deep into the meaning of every individual letter of a law.
This sentence should read: Certain people should *not* have guns. Felons, Joe Biden, psychos, etc....and Biden should not have access to sharp objects also.
Yeah, we all know it’s in there . . . along with other constitutional things like abortion, privacy, penumbras, affirmative action, 1 gal flushes, 3 rear lights on all cars, income taxes, funding abortuaries and public media, etc.
“the right for the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed” sure has restrictions in it, Joe. There’s only one sentence to Amendment II, Joe. Can’t find any restrictions, Joe . . .
Convicted felons who have done their time should still be allowed to enjoy their Second Amendment rights.
