Donald Trump Targets Ted Cruz [and it's helping Cruz]
Wall Street Journal ^ | January 10, 2016 | Heather Haddon and Janet Hook

Donald Trump is taking aim at Republican presidential rival Sen. Ted Cruz, a tactical shift that could be risky on two fronts: It may have come too late, and the Texas senator might actually be benefiting from the attacks......

For Mr. Cruz, being under attack by other Republicans is a badge of honor, another backer said. "It's a quasi-endorsement of Cruz to the grass roots," said Saul Anuzis, former Michigan GOP chairman.

Polls show a growing number of Trump backers see Mr. Cruz as their second choice. Cruz spokesman Rick Tyler said that when the campaign began, polls showed that only 4% of Trump backers saw his boss as their second choice. A new poll by NBC/SurveyMonkey finds that number has risen to 39%.

The latest Wall Street Journal/NBC News poll found that 66% of Trump voters said they would consider supporting Mr. Cruz -- far more than other major candidates....

I appreciate the attempt to come up with a solution like that, but that isn’t reasoned either. I think you know that.

The pipeline needs to go in a fairly straight line for economic reasons. You can’t triple the cost of the pipeline by swerving back and forth and all around to avoid having to use someone’s back 40 to get the job done.

It CLEARLY IS a black and white issue !
When its comes to EMINENT DOMAIN FOR PRIVATE USE", you're either for it ... or you're AGAINST IT !
It's just THAT SIMPLE !

I appreciate you bringing up the pipeline.

It’s a good example and it didn’t dawn on me.

LOL, the article says nothing about it helping Cruz. But it’s good to know the Cruz fans finally realize that Mr. Trump is only looking out for Teddy’s best interests. Cruz should continue to sit back and not fight it will help him even more! Talking is Ted’s strength. Fighting not so much.

Mr. Trump, Ted salutes you!

I'm for the pipelines under CAPITALISM, and NOT "Eminent Domain". If the two parties can't come to an agreement, then buy someone else's land who will sell.

That's a cute way out of your problem. So where is Ted Cruz or any conservative politician arguing that oil pipelines should never make use of eminent domain, even though they do, all the time?

No !
I don't "know that" .

If the people don't want to sell to a company, it's their RIGHT to keep what they own.
If the company really wants the property, then they can up their offer, our get a neighbor close by to sell their land.

Once again, do you go to sports games?

Do you stay in hotels?

Do you shop in shopping malls?

Do you travel using airports?

Do you travel by train?

There are literally hundreds of businesses that use eminent domain to achieve big goals.

There are compelling interests here.

You are trying to use this to bludgeon Trump with, and it’s simply not that easy.

I spent my time trying to explain why and you totally ignored it.

Believe what you want. The rest of us will continue to realize we live in a complex world and things aren’t always cookie cutter clean and easy.

Should one family be able to block all this?

Yes, without a shred of doubt, if the owner does not want to sell.

Forcing an owner to sell property for the benefit of another private owner is an absolute misuse of eminent domain.

Eminent domain must be used for the limited purpose of public buildings, roads, airports, ports, schools, post offices, forts, armories and the like. Never to facilitate the profit of a crony capitalist. Shame on any proclaimed conservative who holds otherwise. For shame.

I don't have any knowledge of that particular issue reference TED CRUZ's position.
You'll have to ask him.

Do you support the Keystone pipeline?

If you don’t, fine.

The rest of us ugly Conservatives do. And it’s is being built by a private company.

Interesting construction and engineering background you have. You must have had to say no to a lot of projects.

Forcing an owner to sell property for the benefit of another private owner is an absolute misuse of eminent domain.

According to who? Kelo didn't even break new ground. For more than a hundred years the country was using eminent domain-- with the backing of the courts-- to fix blighted neighborhoods by selling that land to private developers, or using eminent domain in order for private owners to build rail roads. Today, it's done for the oil pipelines.

Let me know when you find an actual politician who plans on putting a stop to such uses of eminent domain. None exist. Nor should they. The individaul states have created their own laws and protections to insure eminent domain is used appropriately. You don't want the federal government poking their noses in, or stupid people who think somebody's shack should hold up development of a neighborhood that is in absolute ruins.

You'll have to ask him.

In other words, you don't know or you don't want to admit he doesn't.

Guess you support a pink commie then.
