Donald Trump is taking aim at Republican presidential rival Sen. Ted Cruz, a tactical shift that could be risky on two fronts: It may have come too late, and the Texas senator might actually be benefiting from the attacks......
For Mr. Cruz, being under attack by other Republicans is a badge of honor, another backer said. "It's a quasi-endorsement of Cruz to the grass roots," said Saul Anuzis, former Michigan GOP chairman.
Polls show a growing number of Trump backers see Mr. Cruz as their second choice. Cruz spokesman Rick Tyler said that when the campaign began, polls showed that only 4% of Trump backers saw his boss as their second choice. A new poll by NBC/SurveyMonkey finds that number has risen to 39%.
The latest Wall Street Journal/NBC News poll found that 66% of Trump voters said they would consider supporting Mr. Cruz -- far more than other major candidates....

Yeah, right. I’ve been here longer than you. And, I notice, you’re not answering my question, and you’re strangely posting to yourself. You’re a great contributor to intelligent discourse. LOL
If you are not a plant you are doing a very good imitation of one. I don’t care how long you have been here. At best you are delusional. Case closed. But bye now.
You start posting to yourself and then say I’m delusional. Haahaha.
Romney won the independents and crossover Democrats. What did it get him?
Thinking conservatives understand that the independent myth is just that-—a myth. What we NEED to win is for the conservative base and the evangelicals to turn out.
Cruz will get them. Trump will not, despite his cynical ploy of getting onstage and waving a Bible in the air.
Like an Iowa voter told the press the other day, they see through Trump.
So while you, newbie, accuse longtime Freepers of being GOPe, the question is, why are you, if you are indeed a conservative, not supporting the only Constitutional conservative in the race?
I think we know the answer.
The guy simply secretes integrity.
....”Like an Iowa voter told the press the other day, they see through Trump.”.....
There’s plenty more like that one can read at various ‘communities’ media throughout Iowa......I tend to think there are other states communities who will report likewise since the main stream doesn’t for the most part.
Who really knows where he stands on anything? Further the man has no class despite the suit he wears and trophy wife he has on his arm. He’s so ignorant on foreign affairs regardless of his “lemme tell ya” statements as though quoting the headlines of the nearest tabloid. It’s a show...he knows it...
In several posts throughout the thread you seem fixated on the idea that Trump was always a, in your word, “Clintonista,” in lock step with the Clintons (rather than a personal friend who on occasion had a positive thing to say about them). I would like to direct your attention to what Trump wrote in his 2000 book, The America We Deserve, which was of course written when Clinton was still president.
Trump begins the chapter, “Freedom from Terrorism,” by telling the story of the murderous Puerto Rican terrorists Clinton pardoned. Trump was horrified by it and accused Clinton of doing it to help his wife’s Senate campaign (there being many Puerto Ricans in NY sympathetic to the terrorists). Later in the chapter he criticizes our current (at the time) leaders for not doing more to prevent terrorism, which he saw as a really important growing threat. He says that Clinton did do some bombings as president, but that the timing of the bombings was “highly suspect.” He was, of course, suggesting they were done to distract from the Lewinsky scandal (although he didn’t mention the scandal by name). This is the only chapter I’ve read so far. There’s probably more. I thought I would share in the name of balance and to show that even during the Clinton administration Trump leveled some serious accusations against him.
He’s never had any class. I’ve always been aware of it and he has shown me absolutely nothing that would change my mind.
[ This isn’t all to you. I’m posting it to ‘all’ rather than address every question or comment on this thread. ]
I appreciate your comments on this, and I realize none of us see eye to eye on this issues. There are two groups of thought, and they aren’t switching > IMO.
These three posts (links at bottom of post) pretty much lay out my reasons for supporting private uses of eminent domain. They will make sense for some, and no sense to others.
We are Capitalists. We want the creation of jobs and the private sector to flourish. Part of that is the creation of massive businesses where to complete the project, eminent domain becomes necessary. When it does, all of a sudden the venture Capitalist begins to be seen as a Democrat Underground would view any Capitalist.
Folks, either we believe in Capitalism and the creation of jobs, or we don’t. You can’t develop a large entity like a hotel or other projects without it. Of course that’s unless you want to go 50 miles from the city center and purchase a farm to build your hotel on, which nobody will use.
Trump is not evil for utilizing eminent domain. Yes he benefits. I thought that was what we believed in, a venture capitalist creating massive businesses for the betterment of society.
If we don’t believe in this, we don’t belong here.
Over and over again, I see the term Crony Capitalist used on this forum to bludgeon Capitalists as if taking tax breaks and special permits makes one evil.
Every single one of us uses personal exemptions and or write-offs on our income tax returns. Does that make us Crony Citizens? Evidently so. If you go to the city and get a special zoning permit to do something, does that make you a Crony Citizen?
For heaven sake, leave the Democrat Underground talk to them.
Here are three comments written last night when I was tired. They aren’t the best responses, but they do give enough of a an idea of the issues I am addressing, for them to suffice. Those that want to understand will. Those that don’t won’t.

Cheap sleazy blowhard argument.
Democrat Underground, is that you?
BINGO!
Thanks for your post #17.
IMO, there’s a very good chance of that. (5-10% jump)
One could say Trump is acting presidential while other guys dart around one state trying to sew up a state that isn’t all that important in the overall scheme of things.
Trump is exuding confidence. It’s compelling.
Well, he must have liked them a lot to get them to come to his third wedding.
“:^)
I would’t know. We call New Yorkers “carpet baggers” down South. I just know sleazy jerks when I hear them talk - whether it be Chris Christie, or Donald Trump.
Good one. He secretes something, like what bulls secrete.
