Mary Kay Henry, the head of the Service Employees International Union is very nervous about the amount of popularity GOP front-runner Donald Trump has garnered.
She recently said her organization is going into "hyperdrive" to stand up against Trump, because she saw him as a real threat.
Henry was interviewed by David Axelrod for his podcast, "The Axe Files" on Thursday, when she admitted that her organization was worried about what Donald Trump was stirring up in the SEIU's 2.1 million members. She was worried because she believed Trump has the ability to win the White House in November.
During the interview, Henry compared Trump to former California Gov. Pete Wilson. Wilson supported Proposition 226, a measure that unions strongly opposed because it would force them to get approval from individual members to spend their dues on political campaigns.
"This ad that Trump released today is horrific in my mind and reminds me of Pete Wilson in California on Proposition 226," Henry said, most likely referring to Trump's TV ad that talked about building a wall and banning Muslims from entering the United States.
"But Pete Wilson won," Axelrod responded.
"I know. I know. That's why I think this is a very dangerous political moment in our country," Henry admitted.
"I think he's touching this vein of the terrible anxiety that working-class people feel about their current status, but more importantly, how terrified they are for their kids not being able to do as well as they have, never mind doing better," Henry said.

Just one commie interviewing another commie. Nothing new but anything that upsets the SEIU is good for America.
Aren’t SEIU members working for Trump at many of his hotels and other businesses??
You’re FIRED might happen..
“’how terrified they are for their kids not being able to do as well as they have, never mind doing better,’ Henry said.”
The money shot.
There was one SEIU local in Maine that had a somewhat active FREEPER as its president for about three years. Me!
Well then...
Donald Trump should switch political parties and go up against Hillary as the Democratic nominee since most of his support is from Democrats and Unionist.
No point of trying to prove and fooling people that he is somehow comservative.
Congrats! Especially for surviving that ordeal. I was very active in an AFL/CIO chapter local as a VP for some time. It was an uphill battle against the lib members. I convinced non-libs that one of the best ways to fight corrupt unions is to infiltrate and steer them away from corruption. One time there was a loud meeting about committing people and funds towards supporting an SEIU strike line, and I argued against the key person leading that argument. I convinced the union boss that I would seek to split half the chapter away with loss of dues since they were not fulfilling their charter about the true needs of the members. The union boss said I was right, and killed the support SEIU issue. The lib officer who was arguing with me, quit.
Many people don't realize that many union members are conservative but forced to be members of unions, and are forced to go along against what the employee feels is right, while their dues money is taken and used. I tell these conservative members to get involved and do something about it.
I was president of a faculty union at a STEM college that also had a business program. With the exception of the arts and sciences faculty, most of us are fairly conservative.
We have had some issues with union but not many. A couple of the business faculty have pointed out serious errors that management has made in determining the cost raises and so forth. They have in some cased overstated wages and benefit costs by 40%. Pretty sloppy work on their part.
Trump has already won. He just needs to stay alive long enough to see it through.
"I know. I know. That's why I think this is a very dangerous political moment in our country," Henry admitted.
That is the strangest endorsement I've ever heard... AND it was an endorsement...
I was the VP of a technical/engineers union chapter affiliated with AFL/CIO. I went along with some co-workers in founding a guild to represent fellow engineers, got enough people to vote for us to represent employees, and within a few years we affiliated with AFL/CIO as a chapter. By that time I was voted in as VP, later temporarily filling in for president when he took ill and left, and I later pushed for an election because I didn’t want to be president. In the beginning, it was very good at representing the employee’s needs and having demands worked out with management. But later on I saw corruption rearing it’s ugly head. Some people involved were more interested in furthering their careers and fattening their paychecks by colluding with management. Reports were created that overstated discrepancies in pay, as you also said, and management went along with it where it benefitted them. I feel I did some good there before I retired, in trying to keep things real. The union was not all bad, not all good, for the employees, as with many things.
Well,...I believe he believes in the Marxist’s Ideology!
