Well, so far complaints involving the ineligibility for Cruz, Rubio and Jindal to run for president have been filed in three states. Florida, Vermont, and MD. It appears all these people have to do is show proof of the eligibility requirements to run for president as stated in the constitution. So far none have, however Jindal has dropped out so it is moot for him. (Citizenship is not the same as the naturalization requirements for citizenship to run for President as stated in the constitution.)
For some odd reason, Cruz has had his birth records sealed. Heâll have to answer the reason why himself. Heaven forbid if we speculate on that one. It does appear very strange especially if he has nothing to hide? He did show his Canadian Birth Certificate and his paper denouncing his Canadian citizenship, but he has not shown any consulate papers. That must be what he has sealed. So if Cruz will just show proof of the proper papers there should be no problem. But, so far he has not and avoids the subject when asked.
Rubio, will be very difficult to prove as neither of his parents were citizens until five years after he was born.

Cruz has more than two passports. Possibly a Soviet one since his dad is cuban and cuba & the soviet union were partners.
Cruz must prove this isn’t true. Seriously.:))
Adjudication through the Supreme Court and/or Constitutional Amendment to clarify.
That's the eventual path we must take or we have failed.
It's unfortunate in the extreme that Cruz will be the test case. It ends his pursuit this cycle but does not necessarily preclude his success in a future cycle.
It should have been conclusively decided When President Pierce died and Chester Arthur took over.

Uh, no, that is not true.
Rubio, will be very difficult to prove as neither of his parents were citizens until five years after he was born.
There is absolutely no question Rubio was born in the United States to parents legally within the United States - an issue that was long ago adjudicated as being a Natural Born Citizen.
The author of this piece is willfully ignorant - at best.
It may end his run. We’ll see. But it should have been resolved the moment it ever became an issue, certainly with the Obama mess.
Yes it does matter. Rubio is a natural born citizen of the United States - based on the meaning of the phrase at the time the constitution was written, and has been fully adjudicated in the courts long ago that someone born on U.S. Soil to parents legally within the United States is a natural born citizen thereof. You are completely incorrect.
FYI, I’m NOT a sir. I did find that she was supposedly married to an Alan Wilson in 1958, but now there is no record of a divorce. It gets curiouser and curiouser, SIR! ANd, by the way, just because one is married to a uS citizen, it does not make them automatically a citizen themselves. I guess you need to brush up on your facts.
Let’s not forget Nikki Haley, born to two foreign nationals (Sikh-Indian). The GOPe and the Ruppert Murdoch Show are already pushing her name for the V.P. slot.
I dont care if this gets me banned, but anybody here at FR that can say with a straight face that this is a serious iossue against Cruz...is simply not worth a sh&^
This was pretty much all Cruz country until Trump ran, so people here that are trying to suggest with a straight face that Cruz is ineligible is simply a filthy loser
She was born in South Carolina. Do you have evidence her parents were not legally in the United States at the time of her birth?
The problem is Cruz’s mother. His father took Canadian citizenship. His father made some public statement at some point that could suggest he thought both he and his wife were Canadian.
If she ever renounced her US citizenship or took any oath, then it’s a new ballgame.
Hi Grace, please see this link to another post which sets out clarification of the special conditions required to be a natural born citizen. The last few elections have ignored the constitutional requirements.

Now, hell no that won't get you banned.
But I think you're wrong to suggest it will not have a serious effect on his chances even if it's not ultimately proven to be a non-issue.
I can tell from your passion that it will not affect your vote. There's millions like you.
But I don't think there's 100 million like you.
Thank you, that’s what I thought. His parents were here legally, so he is not some anchor baby.
Some statement at some time ... good sourcing.
I tend toward the problem being the lack of producing the paper trail when the question is raised.
Let's see the records.
Makes sense. That’s the easy answer.
It isn’t sourced. But it is what is being said.
I haven’t yet looked for the statement. If I find it, I’ll post it to you. We haven’t discussed a lot in the past, but I’ll try to remember your handle. You don’t have a state posted, but you’ve been around a long time. I respect that.
The probe is many of the trunp-polosi birthers are now ask Cruz to ptove a negative that his mother did not relinquish her citizenship .. down the ct rabbit hole they go!
