This is an authenticated timeline of known facts concerning the citizenship of Senator Ted Cruz.
FACTUAL CRUZ CITIZENSHIP TIMELINE
(Everything presented in this timeline is a matter of public record. All of it is based upon publicly reported events, public statements made by Rafael Cruz, Ted Cruz, officials with the Elect Ted movement or U.S. and Canadian officials.)

Trump never said that Cruz wasn’t eligible, just saying that the left would fight his eligibly and tangle him up in court for months.
It was concern trolling, and it made the conversation about Ted Cruz’s citizenship instead of Ted Cruz’s policies.
We do know that his father naturalized in Canada when he was married to his mother and we also know that Canada didn’t allow dual citizenship.

Well, do we “know that”? So you’re saying that Canada didn’t allow dual citizenship for his father but for Ted Cruz they did?
There's the rub. They do not provide any evidence that the claim is true - they just want to get people to THINK it might be true. If they had any evidence to support it, they would have provided it.
I am totally willing to read them.

duh.....but did she renounce her American citizenship? Duhhhhhhhh
ya’ll are EZ.
This is where I have problems with it. I could understand Rafael Cruz becoming an Canadian citizen. After all he was a Cuban citizen with little chance of returning there. He was working in Canada and probably expected to do so for the foreseeable future. So obtaining Canadian citizenship was logical. And I can understand Ted Cruz being a Canadian citizen, since Canada had birthright citizenship and he was born there. But it's the claim that Cruz's mother became a Canadian citizen just because her husband did that I'm doubtful of. Eleanor Cruz was an adult. For her to become a Canadian citizen then she should have gone through the naturalization process as well; being married to a naturalized Canadian wouldn't have done it on its own. And I've yet to see any evidence she did so.
which doesn’t matter if she didn’t renounce her US citizenship.
Do. Not. Care.
He is eligible.
Time to bring in Sheriff Joe Arpaio and the whole posse gang and we’ll get to the bottom of this EARTH SHATTERING NEWS.
It seems like you "know" many things that are not true. From the official Canadian immigration website:
"Canadians are allowed to take foreign citizenship while keeping their Canadian citizenship... Under Canadian law, a Canadian can be a citizen of another country as well."
I will await word from Dr. Orly Taitz, Esq. who is highly recognized as an authority on such matters.
(First she must clear her calendar of dental appointments, and real estate transactions.)
It says here she was a mother who had also applied for and received Canadian citizenship prior to Ted’s birth.
*******************************************************************************
Ahh so “it says here”. Brilliant! Yeah, so random soul makes that statement on the internet and, therefore it MUST be true. Does it also say she was and remains an American citizen?
That timeline of events isn’t comletely factual. It never mentions Rafael’s marriage to his
first wife which produced two daughters one of which is now dead. It never verifies any
Canadian citizenship for Edward’s mother although it speaks of Rafael’s US citizenship which
he finally obtains in 2005.
Having to go through multiple contortions of facts to provide a basis for a conclusion is an indication a problem.
The Constitution is a simple document. Natural means natural. It does not mean man-made. If Cruz is a US citizen as a result of a man-made law, he is not Natural Born.
It's up to Cruz to prove to people voting in the primaries that there is no risk that he'll be declared ineligible after they've cast their votes.
I note that Cruz doesn't say "My mother was a US citizen when I was born." Instead he says she was born in the US, and she is now a US citizen. End of debate.
It gives the impression that he's a slick attorney finding a weasel way around the question.
Couldn’t you have a dual citizenship back then? Just asking.

Why experts say Ted Cruz is eligible for the presidency
Experts largely agree that Cruz, who was born an American citizen thanks to his mother's nationality, is eligible to serve as president. The U.S. Constitution requires that presidents be "natural born citizens," which Cruz is alleged to not be, since he was born in Canada. Cruz has the backing of most legal experts and U.S. case law, according to a 2011 Congressional Research Service study.
Since Cruz's mother was a U.S. citizen when she gave birth to her son, and even though the future senator from Texas experienced his first moments north of the U.S. border with Canada, until the age of 3, he didn't have to petition for citizenship. Cruz formally gave up his Canadian citizenship in 2014 -- prior to that he held dual citizenship status.
We do know that his father naturalized in Canada when he was married to his mother and we also know that Canada didn’t allow dual citizenship.

Sorry, you need to address that to ‘Behind the Blue Wall” (post 11 above) -— that was HIS/HER statement and, yes, I did know that his statement was not true.
Yeah! Don't you wish? Trump for President.
