1. Barack Obama
Trump said in 2009 that Obama was “a strong guy who knows what he wants,” a person with “the mark of a strong leader,” and “totally a champion.” He even bestowed the greatest Trumpian honor upon Obama, saying, “I would hire him.”
In 2011, while considering making a run for president, he placed himself at the vanguard of the “birther” movement, demanding that Obama show his birth certificate and fueling suspicions that the president was not born in the United States.
2. Hillary Clinton
As has been widely reported, Hillary Clinton attended Trump’s wedding in 2005. Trump also donated to her campaigns in 2002, 2005, 2006, and 2007. In 2007, he called her “very talented,” a “great appointment” for secretary of state, and, in his 1997 book The Art of the Comeback, called her “a wonderful woman who has handled pressure incredibly well.”
This year, he called her “desperate” and “sad.”
3. The Republican Party
From His Book "The America We Deserve"
The Republicans, especially those in Congress, are captives of their right wing. The Democrats are captives of their left wing. I don’t hear anyone speaking for the working men and women in the center. There is very little contact between the concerns and interests of ordinary people and the agendas of politicians. It was my observation of this gap between Americans and their “leaders” that led me to leave the Republican Party and join the Reform Party. The Reform Party carries a lot less baggage than the major parties. It has the opportunity to truly overhaul our political system in service of the American Dream

>>The Donald is effectual, and in todayâs world, that is VITALLY necessary. He can take the bridge too far, and make the advance stick, as evidenced over and over in the campaign up to now. When the âconventional wisdomâ says The Donald has âstepped in it for sure this timeâ, the actual outcome is that his poll numbers have RISEN, and those who attacked him are knocked flat as a cookie.
They don’t understand leadership anymore. Many of these people who post these things want a leader who agrees 100% with them, will never ask them to change or to think outside of their little box. A leader who leads you where you would have gone anyway and has you do the things you would have done on your own is not a leader. In fact, why would you even have such a person? If they are just marching with the mob, hand them their own shovel and add them to the work force.
As you said, I want a leader who can see the “bridge too far” and can motivate us to take it and hold it, even if it requires sacrifices. That’s why you cross the Delaware. That’s the kind of thinking that causes a the rabble of a colony to open fire on the greatest military force in the world.
The people who understand leadership can overlook Trump’s imperfect credentials as a “Conservative”.
This kind of crap has been running for months now, many times and versions per day, yet....Trumps support hasn’t taken any noticeable downturn.
Do you lefties think we conservatives haven’t already seen all this?
If this is all you have, you’re whistling past the graveyard.
None of Obama and/or hillary’s crimes have made any difference to liberals, so why do think this little “gnat inthe face” about Trump is going to do anything other than make your typing fingers tired, and waste your printer ink?
"Only billionaires should run for office! Yeah!"
If you guys are trying to tell us that Trump is not the second coming of Ronald Reagan, you don’t need to waste your time - we know that.
We basically have a choice in this election - vote for someone that MIGHT BE LYING to us, but is telling us what we want to hear (i.e., Trump), or vote for someone that has been PROVEN TO LIE to us, but is (in some cases) telling us what we want to hear.
Since I cannot see any motivation for Trump to put himself through all of this if he is lying, I side with Trump...as do most people here.
Putting out basic fallacies again.
Reductio ad absurdum: the carrying of something to an absurd extreme.
Bull.
It’s a running meme with you Trump fans...beholden to donors, has to beg for money, not self-funded, etc., etc.
The only candidates exempt from the necessity to solicit donations would be extremely wealthy ones.
I don’t care how often Cruz hits me up for money. The country’s worth it.
The point is that the special interests have deep pockets and have worked themselves deeply into the system. Once a candidate is indebted we are down the rabbit hole again. We need Trump to clean the stables without being beholden to anyone but the American people. Once he has have done some of the grunt work and cleared out some dead wood the special interests will be less a factor.
A lifelong liberal isn’t going to clean up anything.
Cruz is dependent upon small-donor money—those ARE the American people.
If you don’t want donors, you’re going to have to settle for only very wealthy candidates, regardless of the magic you think Trump is going to somehow perform.

By not listening to talk radio or reading FreeRepublic several hour a day.
Two words.
Before inflation moved us from Millionaire to Billionaire economy only millionaire's ran for President.
Already true. We only have wealthy candidates or their proxies. The president during WW II only received $25,000.00 annual salary. I remember when Maxwell Taylor resigned and took over the management of March of Dimes at a salary of $1,000,000.00 a year I was dumbfounded.
That is pure BS and you know it. Cruz has more than a few PACs of wealthy donors. Mercer is one of them and he is behind Breitbart and the spamming of people who do not want to be spammed.
Quit the damn lying. It is sickening. Do any of you tell the truth?
I didn’t say he had no PACs or wealthy donors. If you could stop clawing your keyboard in impotent rage long enough to focus, you might be able to absorb the meaning of the posts you read.
More power to his wealthy donors, and to the huge network of small-money donors like me that can be tapped repeatedly. I want to sweep Cruz into office on a sea of cash.
None of the candidates are paupers. But if we’re going to get stuck on the prospect of electing only those who can self-fund a presidential campaign, we’re left with a very small pool to draw from.
I wasn’t clawing my keyboard in rage darlin’ I am just tired of the BS. An d you are full to the top of it!
I am focused and that is what bothers you.
There are many things you need to absorb. But that is impossible with you. I want the cash to stay in the pockets of the people.
You can sweep all you like. You don’t know how sickening “sweeping Cruz into office on a sea of cash” sounds to a whole lot of people.
Perhaps Mizz Heidi could hit up her employer and take the pressure off everyday people who were forced to bail out her employer about 7 years ago.
Sure you were. You always do. Your nastiness has been called out by others, and tossing in a "darlin;" doesn't make you seem less agitated.
"I am focused and that is what bothers you."
Not even focused enough to understand a simple post.
God, dforest, if you think you 'bother' people, then you've been absorbing Trump's egomania too long. It's rubbed off.
"There are many things you need to absorb. But that is impossible with you. I want the cash to stay in the pockets of the people."
What you want is irrelevant. Who are you to tell people they shouldn't contribute to the candidate of their choice?Just so you can confine the country to a very small pool of billionaire candidates?
The thing is, that really isn't the issue with you and it never would have raised its head if you weren't snake-mesmerized by Trump. It's just one more rationalization.
"You can sweep all you like. You donât know how sickening âsweeping Cruz into office on a sea of cashâ sounds to a whole lot of people."
LOL, but it's fine and dandy to want only billionaire candidates who can buy off anyone they want.
I really don't give a damn how it sounds.
"Perhaps Mizz Heidi could hit up her employer and take the pressure off everyday people who were forced to bail out her employer about 7 years ago."
Yeah, that woman, she's sinister.
I hear she works for the Bilderbergers and moonlights for the Illuminati while doing part-time hostessing duties at the Bohemian Grove.
Evil woman!
Geesh, how inventive. They make medicine for goobers like you.
Have you seen a doctor?
What is all this Bohemian Grove crap, Illuminati crap? I never mentioned that, but it must worry you!
Good grief, get a life. Try Alex Jones website. would ya?
