Republican presidential candidate Ted Cruz raised nearly $20 million over the last three months, giving the Texas senator an impressive haul as he heads into the new year and the first nominating contests of the presidential race.
Campaign manager Jeff Roe revealed the fundraising numbers to campaign staffers in a memo first reported by the Wall Street Journal.
"We will conclude 2015 with having raised over $45 million," wrote Roe in the memo.
That means the campaign raised nearly $20 million dollars in the fourth quarter of the year, up from the $12.2 million raised in the third quarter.
According to Roe's memo, the campaign had over 670,000 donations from over 300,000 donors in 2015. Some of those donors are what the campaign calls "sustainers" who are giving recurring payments on a monthly basis. Roe wrote that those recurring donations can fund the entire campaign's field operation.

Just signed up as a monthly donor to Ted’s campaign. This cycle is to important.
“670,000 donors” -including me.
more like....
I've been donating monthly since his campaign started. Keep getting emails and phone pleas to do more "to help them over the edge with emergency donations" but have had to tell them that I'll stick to my original plan and donate what I can each month.
I donate to FR the same way - haven't signed up as a monthly donor but have developed the habit of donating $50/month (with an extra $50 in November to help Jim celebrate his birthday which is the same day as mine) for as long as I can manage.
Now for a short public service announcement to all on FR:
We need to ensure we don't get another Obama-like America Hater as the next President.
The best way to ensure that is to actively support a candidate as the next President.
I prefer Cruz and my money goes to his campaign, hence the Cruz link. If you like someone else, donate to him/her (find your own link to do it) and if you use FR and don't donate, then please don't complain about the welfare leeches or those who have Obama Phones because, functionally, you are no different than any other who enjoys the fruits of others' work for your own benefit.
PS - If you are one of those who cannot afford even a small donation to FR or a candidate, God Bless and happy FReeping!.....
GO CRUZ!! Keep it up Trump!!
I don’t know, but Carson took in 23 million in the same quarter.
OK ... this that why Ben Carson is drastically reorganizing his campaign ?
It can’t be good for Jebbie... I read a story yesterday about his cutting ad buys in IA and SC.
Cue Schadenfreude.
Cruz better not take calls from Karl Rove. Jebs almost out of money and Karl needs to eat too.
Yeb is continuing to raise countless millions of dollars!
All for other candidates.
Hell, every time that Yeb opens his mouth I feel an overwhelming urge to write Cruz another check. I have no doubt that many Trump supporters feel a similar overwhelming urge to send Trump a check.
I just hope that Yeb manages to hang in there until the early primaries.
Jeb has displayed why he is the perfect man to run our government.
He has brought in $1 and spent $2 on an useless endeavor.
Thats a textbook Washington man right there.
Thank you on behalf on Senator Cruz!
I think he is the real deal conservative in the race. iF I have to vote for Trump, I will be holding my nose while doing so.
Cruz does it through sheer annoyance
The Super Pacs are contributing vast amounts of control money to their bought and paid for candidates except one...Trump.
I haven’t been on this site too much over the last year but I noticed that there are no birthers punching away at Cruz. Did management finally get rid of them? Can anyone tell me because I used to enjoy arguing with them.
20 million buys a lot of favors in DC. Only Trump is not in debt to special interests in DC.
I find it odd that he is where he is in the polls but is taking in more than Cruz.
The open borders money has to go somewhere.
With Jeb realistically already out of the running the amnesty money is probably now going to flow to Rubio and Carson.
