Via BuzzFeed, here's Santorum springboarding off of Craig Robinson's post yesterday dismissing Cruz as a "false prophet of social conservatism." Apparently you can't be a truly strong social conservative if you're a federalist on "values" issues.
"Donald Trump has never been a social conservative up until the last few months, and Ted Cruz takes the position, very much a 10th Amendment, states rights, which is, you know, very much Rand Paul, Ron Paul position," Santorum said...
"If people want to do drugs in Colorado, it's fine with him," said Santorum. "If people want have different kind of marriages, it's fine with him. He doesn't agree with it. If you want to have an abortion, it's fine with him, he doesn't agree with it, but he's not gonna fight it. That's not what people are looking for. They're looking for someone who has a very clear vision of what's right and what's wrong and be able to lay that vision out for the American people."

Says more about Rick’s misplaced faith in big centralized government than it does about Cruz’s social conservatism.
I’m disappointed. I would expect Rick would understand and appreciate how today’s extraconstitutional federal government is growing more the enemy of traditional American values by the day.
Remember when Trump was supposed to get in and then drop out?
Remember when he was reported to be fronting for Hillary?
Remember when he was doing to start droping because of gravity?
Folks, he’s been pushing the same agenda for seven months now, and it’s a Conservative agenda.
If you don’t like the guy, that’s fine with me. Go with Cruz. There’s really little doubt about what Trump supports by now.
He gives his reasons for supporting these things.
What’s your take, he’s just saying this so he can continue Obama’s third term?
Why would he do that? He could have run as a Democrat and pushed a Leftist agenda the Left would have been thrilled to buy into.
Trump has had to deal with big government. I don’t think he’s a big fan of it. I haven’t seen him pushing for a big government solution to anything it shouldn’t be.
Oh, I’m keeping calm.
I vigilantly watching God have His way with His Will as it pertains to America.
Trump is not the only guy to rain on a Conservative parade somewhere along the way.
You’re good people, we just disagree on a few things :-)
Never trust anyone that campaigned for, or demanded a vote for Romney. They are liberals.
Well then, let’s quit fighting among ourselves so much or we’ll never beat Hitlery.
"Who has a history of beating Democrats? This guy!"
*eye roll*
Amen
Of course he was going to support Romney.
Tell you what, you get your guys to quite lying about Trump, and I’ll tell the Trump folks to quit telling the truth about Ted.
Ill be glad when the primaries are over and all the butthurt republicans that failed in their campaigns can go back to criticizing hillary.
Ted Cruz is on the right side of the Constitution on these matters.
I’m sorry you feel that way, DO.
I will gladly vote for Trump if he is the nominee.
I don't think many Trump supporters would reciprocate.
Just sayin'
Yeah, Santorum has a rather convenient habit of redefining what conservative means. Now apparently thinking the 10th Amendment means what it says makes one not conservative.
I agree.
You didn't see him "whining" about anything.
