Stratfor has 11 chilling predictions for what the world will look like in 10 years
Business Insider ^ | 12/26/2015 | Armin Rosen

Earlier this year, private intelligence firm Strategic Forecasting, or Stratfor, recently published its Decade Forecast in which it projects the next 10 years of global political and economic developments.

While international analysts often try their hand at predicting the major events of the coming year, Stratfor believes that it's identified the major trends of the next 10.

In many ways, Stratfor thinks the world a decade from now will be more dangerous place, with US power waning and other prominent countries experiencing a period of chaos and decline.

1. Russia will collapse ...

"There will not be an uprising against Moscow, but Moscow's withering ability to support and control the Russian Federation will leave a vacuum," Stratfor warns. "What will exist in this vacuum will be the individual fragments of the Russian Federation."

Sanctions, declining oil prices, a plunging ruble, rising military expenses, and increasing internal discord will weaken the hold of Russia's central government over the world's largest country. Russia will not officially split into multiple countries, but Moscow's power may loosen to the point that Russia will effectively become a string of semi-autonomous regions that might not even get along with one another.

"We expect Moscow's authority to weaken substantially, leading to the formal and informal fragmentation of Russia" the report states, adding, "It is unlikely that the Russian Federation will survive in its current form."

2. . . . and the US will have to use its military to secure the country's nukes.

Russia's nuclear-weapons infrastructure is spread across a vast geographic area. If the political disintegration Stratfor predicts ever happens, it means that weapons, fissile materials, and delivery systems could end up exposed in what will suddenly become the world's most dangerous power vacuum.

STRATFORS failed to predict they would be hacked, with the subsequent loss of member email and charge card info. Big scandal back then (a couple of years ago?).

Years ago I learned that anyone’s predictions have little to no value other than entertainment.

To me, the predictions in that article are as rock solid as the global warming stuff.

Where is the prediction that the US will collapse into civil war with an attempt by the Obama agents to install an Islamic state?

Not that I recall, this is why I asked the question to quantify any known STRATFOR prediction success.

I have a feeling if Russia “collapses”, she’s taking some with her.

Will America be great again?

If the invasion isn't stopped and turned back, about as "great" as every piece of dirt south of the United States.

You have to look at who these guys are - they are owned by military hardware interests.

And no - Russia isn’t going to collapse. That is just stupid.

Here is the reality - Russia is less socialist than the USA today - USA 48% of GDP is government vs only 35% for Russia.

Countries that are socialist decline - Russia is getting more capitalist as time goes by. AND - they are subsidizing their government spending with petro exports - don’t have debt.

“STRATFORS failed to predict they would be hacked, with the subsequent loss of member email and charge card info. Big scandal back then (a couple of years ago?).”

Must’ve been over 5 years ago now. I was one of the emails that was hacked at STRATFOR. how do I know? Well, it was my Blackberry email address that was hacked, and shortly afterwards, I received a couple emails from the hacking group Anonymous wanting me to go through the information they stole. I told them to GFY, and then ‘they’ retaliated by ruining that email address of mine. Anonymous lost ALL respect I may have had for them at that point, though it was very little.

I have found STRATFOR’s forecasts to be correct far more often than wrong. Think of it this way, a private enterprise made up of people previously employed by the government, to do what they had been doing without the governmental bureaucracy.

Unfortunately, I think what started out as an excellent business model and intelligence gathering/analyzing organization has fallen prey to the Uniparty and their interests. Now, much of what they release goes through the Uniparty filters in order to reveal that which helps the Uniparty agenda and keep private that which does not.

Sheldon Cooper: In a world where mankind is ruled by a giant intelligent beaver, what food is no longer consumed?

Leonard Hofstadter: Uh... a BLT where the B stands for beaver? I don’t know.

Sheldon Cooper: Leonard, be serious. We’re playing a game here.

Leonard Hofstadter: I can figure this out, let’s see. Um... well, beavers eat tree bark. The only tree bark I know that humans consume is cinnamon, so I’ll say cinnamon.

Sheldon Cooper: Incorrect. Obviously, the answer is cheese Danish.

Leonard Hofstadter: What?

Amy Farrah Fowler: In a world ruled by a giant beaver, mankind builds many dams to please the beaver overlord. The low-lying city of Copenhagen is flooded, thousands die. Devastated, the Danes never invent their namesake pastry. How does one miss that?-The Big Bang Theory

No crazier than these other predictions...

...violence will be the new currency.

The urban gangs will be dependent on government welfare to residents of the ghettos and will deliver votes for the Bolshies to continue providing it.

1. Russia allow the US military to sequester her nuclear weapons even as the Federation unravels?  That's when Moscow will be most belligerent, not less.

2. Germany's unassimilating Islams will not only ameliorate any population decline, but foment civil war over religious extremism.

3. Poland's newly found "prestige" will assure stability but not much else.

4. Anyone can see the EU coming apart.  But will China exploit the new trade opportunities that will unfold?  And moreso in Africa?

5. Turkey assist the US in managing the Black Sea?  No, but Turkey will suffer an influx of ME refugees as Syria collapses, further alienating them from NATO.

6. I foresee that China will liberalize as world trade enriches the Chinese middle class, who demand more of a say in government.

7. An increase in Japan's naval power is another no-brainer, as it has already begun.

8. Yes, the US will exercise diminished power, content to watch Islam corrupt Europe from afar, while pursuing liberty-destroying counter-measures as homeland terrorism becomes increasingly commonplace.  The inevitable backlash against Muslims will remain buried under goodspeak.
