Over roughly the past 18 months, the following events have transfixed the nation.
In July 2014, Eric Garner, an African American man reportedly selling loose cigarettes illegally, was choked to death by a New York City policeman.
That August, a white police officer, Darren Wilson, shot and killed an African American teenager, Michael Brown, in Ferguson, Missouri. For close to two weeks, protesters battled police clad in military gear. Missouri's governor said the city looked like a war zone.
In December, an African American man with a criminal record avenged Garner's and Brown's deaths by murdering two New York City police officers. At the officers' funerals, hundreds of police turned their backs on New York's liberal mayor, Bill de Blasio.
In April 2015 another young African American man, Freddie Gray, died in police custody, in Baltimore. In the chaos that followed, 200 businesses were destroyed, 113 police officers were injured, and 486 people were arrested. To avoid further violence, a game between the Baltimore Orioles and the Chicago White Sox was postponed twice, then played in an empty stadium with police sirens audible in the distance.
Then, in July, activists with Black Lives Matter, a movement that had gained national attention after Brown's death, disrupted speeches by two Democratic presidential candidates in Phoenix, Arizona. As former Maryland Governor Martin O'Malley fidgeted onstage, protesters chanted, "If I die in police custody, avenge my death! By any means necessary!" and "If I die in police custody, burn everything down!" When O'Malley responded, "Black lives matter, white lives matter, all lives matter," the crowd booed loudly. Later that day, O'Malley apologized.
Donald Trump, who had ascended to first place in the race for the Republican presidential nomination while promising to represent the "silent majority," called O'Malley "a disgusting little weak, pathetic baby."

Media and the minority is nudging and pushing Left; the others in the country, i.e., us, are not.
If America is moving left it is because of all of the freeloading socialists that the DemocRATs are importing into OUR country to increase their voter rolls. Americans aren’t “moving left”.
As he lists sign after sign of America’s leftward journey, we can see that we need to absolutely reject the left. Every sign is ugly. Why would anyone want more of that ugliness?
That’s why firearm and ammunition sales are at highest ever peaks. To be used for a move back toward the right!
The tyranny of the Libtards!
They do but they don’t use them.
It’s all about emotions and feelings for leftist clowns.
I glanced through the article but it’s more like a book.
If so, then it's not leftists buying the guns. So while some of America may be moving Left (no argument there, only the contention that it is a very small some) clearly not all of America is.
One photograph can make a gathering of a dozen people look like a crowd of a thousand. This is the media's strength. That and its willingness to lie brazenly.
An oversized, overspending, out of control, incompetent and corrupt federal government and its policies have caused about 50% of Americans to be on the dole. While many may say a change is needed, when it comes to voting they vote for continuance of the dole (free lunch). Thus, America turns further and further to the left. And until this worthless and failed system blows up, and an insurrection takes place that is the road we will continue to follow.
“Public schools, Marxist universities, and mass media.”
Also fecklessness, duplicity and treachery of the country club rino set!
To recap, America has been schlonged by the Left.
The left has a great deal of power. It is able to infuse its message into every TV program and movie that is watched in this land, thanks to its domination of the entertainment and media industries. It holds a near complete monopoly on academic matters, to the point where ‘intellectual’ at this point is a code word for leftist. We have seen things come to the point where they are able to define ‘diverse’ and ‘equal’ as virtues rather than descriptions, and able manufacture secular sins such as ‘racist’ and ‘homophobic’ in order to destroy opposition. Those two sources of control have to be broken, somehow.
[[Why America Is Moving Left]]
The answer is very simple- people are turning into selfish pricks- end of story- We’re now the ‘gimmedat now- the hell with everyone else’ society
Nuff said
Merry Christmas.
[[The left moved years ago to capture political office, our religion, or schools, our media, our economy and now even American business.]]
Precisely, and heir victory celebration was the night dear leader lit up the whitehouse in a shameful display of ‘in your face America’ homosexual colors- which by the way- the left STOLE from God- turning a symbol of God’s love into a symbol of immorality
[[We are at a tipping point where it is distinctly possible that no Republican will ever be President.]]
Things though SOMETIMES have a way of going too far- we’re perhaps seeing it in NY where there is rampant corruption and discontent in the politics there- IF NY has any sense left- they will boot those thugs and criminals out and begin afresh with republicans
You are correct. Without “money” the gov’t can’t do much.
Well, Mr. Beinert, you'd better hustle on the gun control then - these things DO have a way of getting out of control.
Once again, “Mr. DeMille, I’m ready for my closeup.”
>>Another problem is that the current captains of industry lack the sense of noblesse oblige that led the “robber barons” of the Gilded Age to endow libraries and suchlike. (Silicon Valley is something of an exception; note that the tech CEOs generally have better public reputations than their industrial and (especially) high-finance brethren.
You’re right. The “robber barons” generally thought of themselves as the builders of a great nation with a great sense of responsibility to leave it better than that found it. Today’s CEOs see themselves as the leaseholders of a great nation that is inhabited by replaceable minions.
