Ted Cruz continued his vendetta against the political media Tuesday, this time invoking two famous Muppets to make his point.
According to NBC News' Hallie Jackson, Cruz compared political pundits to Statler and Waldorf, the two felt curmudgeons known for mercilessly bashing whatever they happen to be watching, before a rally in Knoxville, Tenn.

"There are an abundance of political pundits in the world, who, like Statler and Waldorf, assess every comment every candidate makes," the Texas senator said. "I don't need to be another political pundit."
Cruz was responding to questions about Donald Trump's recent comments about Hillary Clinton being "schlonged" in the 2008 election by Barack Obama.
"I'm going to let Donald Trump speak for himself and I'll speak for myself," Cruz said.
Cruz has been on a warpath against the political press this week. His campaign team blasted the Washington Post earlier Tuesday for practicing "yellow journalism" after the Jeff Bezos-owned publication gave a Cruz campaign ad attacking Florida Sen. Marco Rubio "four Pinnochios."
This also is not the first time Cruz has used pop culture to illustrate a political point. He tried his hand at a Yoda impression in November and has quoted "The Princess Bride" on multiple occasions, much to the ire of "Bride" star Mandy Patinkin.
BRILLIANT!
That’s a great allusion and could be the foundation for some great political ads!
They do look like Kraut and Kristal.
Merry Christmas
Mr. Cruz is really in a groove handling the media jackals.
I’ve always said that pundits are the movie critics of the political world.
Statler and Waldorf were funny; more than can be said for leftist pundits.
Walter is funny too
Remember in the movie The Right Stuff when the media ascended upon John Glen’s home to get a interview with his wife with the sound of locusts ?
Yeah, that’s the media...... The reptilian Nephelium beings.
I've got a tingle up my rear, wait that is not a tingle it is a hand, hah ha hah
Statler and Waldorf don't deserve to be insulted like that.
Milton Berle vs Statler and Waldorf.
Are they a gay couple?
