A group of prominent Orthodox rabbis in Israel, the United States and Europe have issued a historic public statement affirming that Christianity is "the willed divine outcome and gift to the nations" and urging Jews and Christians to "work together as partners to address the moral challenges of our era."
"Jesus brought a double goodness to the world," the statement reads. "On the one hand he strengthened the Torah of Moses majestically" and on the other hand "he removed idols from the nations," instilling them "firmly with moral traits."

You are NO DIFFERENT from a Muzzie trying to force non-Muzzies to accept their beliefs. Absolutely no difference at all.
If Jews wish to peacefully practice their non-JC-containing religion, they have a perfect right to do so without being criticized for having what is to us a foreign element tacked on. Might as well suggest Krishna or Buddha to a Jew as JC.
Thank you most heartily for this link. SOmething mighty interesting going on here.
Thank you hugely for this ping. I am reading with rapt interest.
Wish I had more time. Spent the day --- other than singing in the choir at the Latin Mass --- insulating our windows and sewing "draft snakes" for our doors. The weather in Upper East Tennessee is unseasonably warm right now, but frigid temperatures are a-comin; --- probably in January, like last year.
And tomorrow I have to teach a couple of RCIA students until almost noon. And then I have to work on the parish newsletter (I chore I don't always enjoy, though it's a modest opportunity to speak my piece.)
So I don't have the time to study into the subject of this thread, as much as I would like to.
God bless all y'all. Rejoice, O Daughter Zion. Shalom on the Range.
"O Key of David, and scepter of the house of Israel, who opens and no man shuts, who shuts and no man opens: come, and bring forth the captive from his prison, he who sits in darkness and in the shadow of death."
Did not know about the history of the Star of David. Thanks for sharing. Now I have to look for a Star of David. The more I think on the idea, the better I like it. Give the terrorists even more to hate me about.
Thank you so much! The Orthodox Jewish vision of Moshiach is exactly the same as mine except mine is a larger view. When I need to calm and inspire myself I go to the time of His rule. If their hope was not based on faith in “the word,” it would have failed thousands of years ago.
Lovely post! And what a lovely day you described!
Now I’m trying to make some kind of a quip about making sure your draft snakes haven’t been driven out of Ireland, but it’s not quite working out...
For a pretty good overview of "the Jewish position based on the books of the Bible only" (concerning their view of the messiah), you might want to view these two youtube clips:
"The Real Messiah - Part 1"(Keep in mind that when the Rabbi in these two video clips talks about "the Bible", he is referring to what Christians call "the Old Testament", and when he talks about "the Christian Bible" or "the Christian Scriptures", he is referring to what Christians call "the New Testament".)
Thanks! I may have to circumvent the system to get it on my hard drive for transcription. As long as the OT references are in English I’ll be good to go. :)
****You are NO DIFFERENT from a Muzzie trying to force non-Muzzies to accept their beliefs. Absolutely no difference at all.****
I beg to differ. I won’t kill you if you don’t convert :o)
And to Greetings, Jesus is not the Judge. The Father is the Judge, Jesus is our defense attorney. Satan is our Prosecutor.
Multiple layers are also multiple witnesses.
In the meantime though, there's a whole lotta weirdo interpretations that require the "undo" button to be pushed first. The "Nazarene Prophecy" is a classic example. Experts scratch their heads...
I repeat: JC is NOTHING to me or to other Jews. Not a defense attorney, not even a thought.
What do I care? I'm talking about Christianity and what scripture teaches. I don't care what the Jews have to say about it.
You don't care what the Jews have to say about it? After you dictate what the Jews should be doing? Who died and made you G-d? Stuff your dictates way way up.
Didn't you just get done ranting with froth at the mouth about how you don't care what Christians think? I was talking to Christians about what Christians believe and what our scripture teaches.
Sorry, but Christianity is a missionary religion. Get over it.
Does not Bible say that Jesus is our judge as well as our savior? The Father does not judge belivers, Jesus does.
For my eyes have seen your salvation,
which you have prepared in the sight of all people,
a light for revelation to the Gentiles
and for glory to your people Israel.”
Luke 2:30-31
Whether you lived before or after Christ He is Gods salvation. There is no salvation outside Christ. Those who lived before Him who believed Gods promises are saved by that belief, but it is Christ who saves them.
Indeed. Many "devout" Jews, Catholics, Protestants, and so forth, could use much more Bible study. It will be Bible believing Jews and Bible believing Christians, with guidance from above, who will lead us through this, IMO.
Maybe the witness prophecy is a process of reconciliation held in Jerusalem and broadcast worldwide. That's a good possibility. Such a thing would resolve many of these "weirdo interpretations" you speak of.
This declaration by this group of Rabbis is indeed groundbreaking. It will help unite Jews and Christians against an evil growing exponentially which seeks both our destruction.
