President Obama's weekly remarks
Hi, everybody. It's the most wonderful time of the year. Not just for spreading holiday cheer -- but also for list makers. You've got wish lists; Santa's list; and of course, a blizzard of year-in-review lists. So I decided to get in on the action.
As a nation, we face big challenges. But in the spirit of 2015 retiree David Letterman, here -- in no particular order -- are my top 10 things that happened in 2015 that should make every American optimistic about 2016.
Number ten: The economy. Over the past 12 months, our businesses have created 2.5 million new jobs. In all, they've added 13.7 million new jobs over a 69-month streak of job growth. And the unemployment rate has fallen to 5 percent -- the lowest it's been in almost eight years.

Number two: Love won. No matter who you are, here in America, you're free to marry the person you love, because the freedom to marry is now the law in all 50 states.
I'm surprised he didn't put this #1.
I’ve never felt the sort of misery and anger there is out in the community this Christmas. Homelessness continues to go up in my community, all the time while the government lies about virtually everything.
"George W. Bush may not have been the best President, but there never was a suspicion on who's side he was on."
Thank you!
We must do better ...NOW!
Is this real or satire?
If it’s real, it’s more evidence of his disconnect from average folks
I know some people who have supported Obama. They’re quiet about politics now. But they’re still clueless about life
Yes, Virginia, there is a Uniparty. It exists as certainly as opportunism, pusillanimity, and obsequiousness exist, and you know that they abound and give to life its greatest aggravation and frustration. ... Not believe in Uniparty! You might as well not believe in global warming!
I think you meant “evacuate”. You don’t want to eradicate any organs you still might need. :-P
We are so happy down here in South Texas. EVERYTHING IS BOOMING! Money is coming in so fast that the banks have to dump it in the parking lot simply because there is not enough room in the vaults.
It would not be that way unless Obama’s wonderful golden touch created this utopia of complete employment, the dream of all middle class to pay cash for their homes, free property taxes for those who register as a Democrat and a whole wealth of goodies that we did not have before Obama took office. IT’S SIMPLY WONDERFUL!
To give an example: My neighbor was a driller on a drilling rig and when the price of oil fell, he got laid off and could not find another job in the oilfield. Months went by and the magic of Obama’s splendid recovery plan allowed him to finally find a job at Lowes as a first level trainee to help customers. The amazing thing is that he lost a job paying over $35.00 per hour and was able to find one a minimum wage. The benefits are really great...since he is not married to his wife and she does not work so she qualifies for welfare for her and their two children, free health care and a wealth of other benefits and free groceries. He was so happy but said that he might not vote for a Democrat the next time around.
He is even more excited about the fact that oil may go down to $20.00 per barrel just like it did in 1982 and 86 and life might get even better as more and more special interest welfare bennies are spewed forth from Washington D.C.
Me, too! I work in The Belly of the Beast, and my lefty co-workers haven’t said BOO about 0bama, or praised him in ANY way...and it’s not like they don’t HAVE opinions! Eight long years of Bush Bashing clarified that, LOL!
Also - NO talk of Hillary! or Bernie. They don’t know who Mark O’Malley even is. *SNORT*
Please use monosyllabic words in the future, thanks :-)
Too bad for your neighbor but, it seems folks that are receiving some type of welfare tend to vote for those politicians who promise more.
He's between the proverbial rock and a hard place.
I was so pissed after reading the article that my fat brain got the best of me :-)
Ha, you could have just blamed “auto correct”
The article did make me feel a bit pukey.
