On Tuesday, the Superintendent of the Los Angeles Unified School District announced that all schools would be shut down today due to an unspecified terror threat. According to ABC News, that threat also carries âunknown credibility.â Bus drivers say they have been returned to their bus depots. LAUSD is the nationâs second-largest school district, with 640,000 students and 900 schools; children range from kindergarten to 12th grade.

“This will shut down the city.”
Makes me think of scenes in ‘24’. But in real life.
bOOK PING
The entire city might suffer major traffic congestion according to dragnet2.
Oh, wait. These are public schools. Never mind.
“Considering the crap the LA public schools shovel into the minds of children, this may be a good thing after all.”
Yep, those schools are tax paid day care centers instead of places of learning.
Now they seem to be back tracking on the “bomb threat” story.
You can bet if they shut down the largest school district in the nation, this is no typical PO’d kid. This will cause hundreds of thousands to stay home from work.
Now hearing this is “bigger” than a bomb threat. These AH’s should come right out and tell the people WTF it is.
From the LA Times:
âOfficials have closed all Los Angeles Unified School District campuses Tuesday morning after receiving a âcredible threatâ of violence involving backpacks and packages left at campuses....â

Given the the number of pipe bombs they found at San Bernardino last week, one has to wonder were other pipe bombs made and where are they now??
The only positive here is that it happened early. If the same threat came 2 hours later when everyone was at work there’d be COMPLETE chaos. Kids would HAVE to be out of the school, Parents would HAVE to go them but who knows how far away those parents are? For many, it’s practically impossible to get there quickly.
You’re talking about thousands of stranded kids!
You just declared a win for terrorism. Millions of people’s lives disrupted, 10s of millions of dollars in lost productivity.
Anyone with half a brain could concoct a fraudulent *specific* threat for multiple targets.
Because this one was so successful it is going to occur again and again and again.
The ENTIRE school district?
The intel is not more specific?
Like you, I heard it was phone call.
No, I didn’t say anything about traffic. It will shut down much of the city due to the fact hundreds of thousands won’t be going to work.
It will affect stuff way beyond the school district.
I wonder what the private schools are doing. If our RATs and GOPe got hit they might change their minds about a lot of issues.

That's not who we are!

Sorry.
You may well be correct!
The threat, which was against “many schools,” was received electronically and mentioned backpacks and other packages, Cortines said at a morning news conference. The nature of the threat was “unspecified.

As much as I miss my grandsons, I'm almost happy that they're in Okinawa. I've never forgotten the horrific attack in Beslan, and the possibility that it could happen here.
