According to the latest Des Moines Register Poll, (full pdf below) of 400 Republican caucus goers, candidate Ted Cruz has surged into the lead with 31% support - a gain of 21 points since DMR's previous polling:

I have a pretty good idea. ;)
400 is, in fact, a big enough sample size to obtain a 5 percent margin of error. Of course, the sample must be representative of the population and chosen are random.
Additionally, it’s several weeks before the caucus. Things will change. The drive bys. Will begin an all out assault now that Ted’s success appears likely.
The Des Moines register is an ARCH enemy of Trump — Did you know that? Check it out. The poll is a lie. Complete fabrication. No doubt. Would you like to defend the Des Moines register?
The Reuters rolling poll is regularly 450 -500 people for a nationwide poll. That is entirely too small of a sample for a national poll. 400 for a smaller state like Iowa— pretty good.
You are welcome.
This is not a complete list of all the issues they rated the candidates on. Cruz actually won half or more of them if you look at all the internal issue questions.
CNN poll had 552 likely Republican caucus goers, Des Moines register had 400 likely caucus goers.
That's what I hear about all polls. Fox doesn't like Trump. CNN is democratic. Quinnipiac is this. WSJ is that. So why should we believe any of them? The Republican race is 0-0 before the start of the game in your opinion. Right? All polls are slanted. The games begin in February. No one is in the lead.
It looks like Cruz picked up nearly every supporter that deserted Cain, I mean Carson!
There were 14 issues they rated the candidates on. Cruz won 7 and Trump won 7. Whoever made the graphic you posted cherry picked more of the issues that Trump won on to make it look like the respondants agreed with Trump more often than they did with Cruz. That was deceptive and made it look likethe internals of the poll didnt match the results.
I understand that.
Which categories do you think are most important in this election?
N. He picked the ones that are most important in this election.
Pitiful post.
To him but apperrantly not to the Iowa voters.
I am disgusted with the ^cool heads^ in congress and the oh so cool Obama. These so called cool heads are destroying America. My only remaining hope is a hot head who is UNABASHEDLY PRO-AMERICA will be in charge next time.
Preferably one who is not controlled by lobbyists and rich donors.
And to me.
The 400 likely caucus goers are imbeciles, based on whom they picked as the best candidate to get along with congress. They picked Ted Cruz as best to get along with congress! Which rock have those voters been hiding under?
Cruz has exactly 3 senators who call him a friend and back his bills. 96 other senators vote down all his SIGNIFICANT proposals. Many senators openly despise him. I have no problem with that because they are all RINO’s or democrats. But that is not the point.
To vote Cruz as the best to get along with congress is so far from reality, this voter group is laughable idiots. Hand picked by the Register editors. And therefore their poll is irrelevant.
This poll is voted on by total idiots, based on post #138.
I’m not buying it for one minute. There’s not anything that Cruz has said or done to suddenly propel him this much. The Des Moines register hates Trump and they are using their rag to show it.
