Ted Cruz Questions Donald Trump's 'Judgment' to Be President (Uh oh)
NY Times ^ | Maggie Haberman and Matt Flegenheimer

Posted on 12/10/2015 7:49:24 AM PST by RoosterRedux

Senator Ted Cruz raised questions on Wednesday at a private fund-raiser about whether Donald J. Trump, his bombastic rival for the Republican presidential nomination, has the "judgment" to be president and mused about "strength," according to two people who attended the event in Manhattan

The remarks from Mr. Cruz came as he has studiously avoided public criticism of Mr. Trump, who is handily beating the rest of the Republican field in opinion polls.

Mr. Cruz has positioned himself to be the beneficiary of any erosion of support for Mr. Trump. While he has said he doesn't agree with Mr. Trump's proposal for a ban on Muslim immigrants entering the United States, he has taken pains to praise Mr. Trump for making immigration a focal point of his candidacy.

But inside a conference room in a Madison Avenue office, with about 70 people pressed around a table, Mr. Cruz gave a candid assessment of the race, lumping Mr. Trump with another candidate whose supporters the Texas senator hopes to poach, Ben Carson, according to two people present for the remarks.

Re: "328 Chauncey Street!"

Yup, just one slight error in that show, that address is in Bushwick, near where Jackie Gleason grew up, not Bensonhurst.

They used that Bushwick address where he grew up throughout the series, even though they supposedly lived in Bensonhurst.

Up until a year ago I lived in nearby Glendale. Only Ridgewood is between Glendale and Bushwick. They used various other Bushwick streets in the series. And they used at least one Brooklyn street name as the last name of one of the characters: Havemeyer Street in Williamsburg

So you’re point of reference are articles from 15-20 years ago?? Before any throught of public office??

You gotta come up with something more recent and poignant to the campaign if you are even going to go there, my friend.

"“Judgment is a question for all candidates for president of the United States. That is the point Cruz was making.”

Let's talk about the judgement involved in voting for TPA and the Corker Iranian Jihadi bill.

And then let's talk about what to do with the illegals here now.

And whilst we're talking about judgement, let's discuss tripling H-1B visas.

This country does not need someone with the temperament of a 3rd grader in a schoolyard smack down contest as its president.

That more accurately describes zer0.

I think both Trump or Cruz would be isolated by both parties but only Trump would have the ability to utilize Reaganesqe fire side chats to have the people pressure all of the politicians to get things done.

That Cruz has the temerity to even mention Judgement is the headline here.

TPA, Corker Bill, H-1B.

Yeah, that's Presidential Judgement all right.

And, then to publicly oppose two of them AFTER voting for them brings another criticism to mind.

I agree. No one (so far) has touched the kryptonite and lived to tell about it.

See the full video clip. It was on Morning Joe. He said that out of the choices of Bush Sr., Clinton, W. and Obama, he would pick Clinton.

outrageous statements Trump makes

Outrageous to whom?

Trump says we are in a war because Muslim extremists have declared such and committed commensurate acts of war killing thousands of Americans IN THE UNITED STATES and beheading Christians elsewhere in the name of "jihad" and worldwide Islamic supremacy. Check.

Trump says we are unable to understand much let vet the Muslims who want to immigrate here. They come from all over under different names like Muslim Brotherhood, Iran, ISIS, al Quida, etc. It is a decentralized war we've never seen before. Check.

Trump says that until we understand what we are dealing with and how to deal with it, we must not let them in, for the sake of protecting the American People, erring on the side of the rights of American citizens rather than foreigners. Check.

The PRIMARY duty of the federal government is to defend America from enemy invasion which duty trumps a somewhat murky construing of constitutional rights on foreign immigrants. Check.

Trump's judgement is spot on. I hope Cruz didn't say that because it sounds like words of the ruling elite who think they are superior to the average American but in fact are corrupt and generally lack sound judgment.

Oh, so, Mr. Know-it-all questions others’ judgment, so who questions his? How about when he was told that McConnell was lying to him by his own staff and he refused to believe them? How about his support for increasing H-1B visas and his vote on the Corker bill? Sorry, Mr. Cruz, you are in no place question others.

I’d like to keep Greg Abbot as a governor just in case we need to secede.

Ah, the old “internal polling” card. That worked really well for Mitt, didn’t it.

"Source?"

If you click on this link and scroll down the page, you will see a chart of closing dates for candidates to file in each state. No one could sign up now and win the presidential primary with this many states already closed. That is why Biden cannot enter the race now and win.

Thanks for your post about Trump/Biden statement comparisons. There is a phrase I used when I gave political speeches or Election Law training to large groups of Republicans. The phrase is, "Taste your words before speaking them."

The other action I did before speaking was to eject news reporters from the room/auditorium. I did not want liberal new reporters printing what I said in their newspapers. I was always speaking to Republicans, training them how to win against Democrats and I did not want my "secrets" of legally winning to be put in their newspapers.
