Hollywood heavyweight Harrison Ford has told the ABC he hopes world leaders can "finally do something" about climate change as he launched a broadside at squabbling world powers.

During an interview with 7.30, Ford said the consequences of inaction were dire.

As one who prefers Riesling, I'd love to see more global warming. Consider this pic of the Mosel, where I lived for four years:

There are many places where grapes are grown on one side of the river, because the other side receives less sunshine. However, warming temperatures would open up those fields for grape production.

He used to be one of my favorite actors, but no more.

Stupid seems to be a disease in much of Hollyweird.

Unbelievable how utterly foolish these people are. These are essentially professing their belief that there is no God.

World leaders? World leaders can't even close their own borders to those who would put your head on a pike and you think they have the ability change the weather?

Mister Ford, Mark Steyen pointed out in-depth in an interesting way how scientists are intimidated by global warming zealots:

Also, please google ‘ice age theory’. That was the big scare tactic prior to global warming fears. And, please bear in mind that there is no way that a collection of thermometors on the ground can be as accurate as satellite surveys. Satellite results are the ‘gold standard’ of climate temperature averages.

Those Hollywood actors sure know a lot about science and social injustices.

I have often argued those same points. Where is the owner’s manual for the earth that gives the correct climate specifications?

I have noticed that. But I also recall, in contrast to this statement on CLimate Change, reading an interview not long ago, where Ford stated something to the effect that “well, I have my opinions about a lot of things, but I don’t talk about them,I don’t think they’re any more important than anyone else’s opinions.” Go figure.

Hollywood actors. What don’t they know?

They make a living saying the words other people write for them while playing let’s pretend.

Elitists and frauds. Dhimwits.

I guess with all people there are things one does not like about them. I like Harrison’s acting and that is it.

Its amusing to see people like Ford with no scientific credentials who pontificate on complex subjects they have no knowledge about. Unfortunately, we see this everyday from our politicians, entertainers, and media personalities, the vast majority of whom are intellectual lightweights.

Such people talk in emotion laden vague generalities. They avoid specific questions like the ones you listed because they don’t really care about the underlying science; they only care about their political agenda.

He is brain dead, as if he took drugs heavily for decades.

I've seen him. I wouldn't blame drugs. He's just unintelligent and boring.

I’ll bet it took a lot of CO2 to get him to Australia so he could promote his new Star Wars movie. And I’ll bet it took a lot of CO2 to make that movie.
