Turkey may not be in the Mosul area to attack ISIS or train Iraqi troops, as other stories have claimed.

This is interesting.
Maybe a little playing off of Russia against US, and what about the Kurds... and all that oil?

Yesterday Iraq said.....No US boots on the ground....
Russia is there at the invitation of Iraq.

Why would Turkey attack their oil business partner?
Didn’t the Iraq PM mention several weeks ago he would consider asking Russia for help against ISIS?

Turkey is probably there to:
a. Support ISIS
b. Attack the PKK Kurds
C. Both
Nineveh Province, where Mosul is, also has a main concentration of Iraq’s ethnic Turks (Turkmen). They could be forming a militia from that population.

I expect Turkey is there to attack the Kurds, the only ground forces opposing ISIS.
Question for the Iraqi PM: If Turkish troops are in Mosul, ISIS controls much of the western part of your country, and you can’t do anything about it but talk, does Iraq have much “sovereignty” to violate?

So what, borders mean nothing. /s
