AIKEN, S.C. (AP) - Authorities say a man trying to rob a couple who thought they were going to buy a car off Craigslist has been shot and killed.
Aiken County deputies said in a news release that officers are looking for the second robber after he ran away following the shooting Wednesday afternoon.
Investigators say the would-be robbers pulled out a gun and demanded money when they met the couple at an Aiken gas station where they planned to buy a car listed on the Internet site.
Deputies say while the gun was pointed at the man, his girlfriend pulled her own weapon and shot at the robbers.

Now that is what I call “Gun Control!”
Always take a gun and a witness to a Craig’s List meet. Good planning means a good outcome.
who is she, Shane?
the gun is pointed at the man, and she pulled the gun so quickly that he couldn’t respond?
maybe he didn’t intend on using it. bad idea to pull a weapon if you’re not gonna use it, i guess.
The only kind I support, and I support it completely.
“...he gun is pointed at the man, and she pulled the gun so quickly that he couldnât respond?...”

Well, he should have watched more reality shows and he would have learned to “expect the unexpected”.
Good woman & good shooting...a beautiful pair.
I bought my son a car off of Craigslist about a month ago. Like this case, we met at a convenience store off the interstate. Unlike this case we got a pretty sweet deal.
Guess he won’t be robbing anyone else now. A significant reduction in crime.
Apparently both thugs were armed. If this is true, the one who ran off must have had a fake gun or a failure of nerve.
You go, girl.
The truth is she proves why concealed carry is so much better in a situation like this.
As soon as the robber brandished and said his intent, his attention has to be all over the map. He has to watch the couple, order them to do things, watch out for police or witnesses, pay attention to his confederate and direction of escape, etc.
All she has to do is wait for the right moment, draw on him and fire, or not, at *any* time, her choice. Very focused.
Then he made the fatal mistake of watching her boyfriend, figuring that he was the one who would act. He had no idea if one or the other or both of them were armed.
All of this stuff adds up big time.
I encourage people to get with a friend and a couple of cap pistols, and do mugger-victim role play, playing it straight. It’s mind boggling how much advantage cc has over the brandished gun of a robber.
But who is Shane?
Well, that certainly narrows it down. /s
I also bought a car off the list. Six years later, it is still going well. I did not take cash, only a cashiers check and that was arranged at the bank in front of tellers and security cameras. To get the title, I followed them to their store on the main road and did not enter the store itself. My route was well documented by others.
Not much to meet now. Good!
He succeeded, thanks to a smart armed woman. But I don’t think he was expecting for his life to be turned into the ground as soon as it happened, LOL.
