Donald Trump under fire for mocking disabled reporter

Republican presidential contender Donald Trump has been criticised for mocking a disabled New York Times reporter.

Mr Trump performed an impression of Serge Kovaleski, who suffers from a congenital joint condition, at a rally.

He has used a 2001 article by Mr Kovaleski to back up widely disputed claims that "thousands" of Muslims in New Jersey celebrated the 9/11 attacks.

The New York Times called Mr Trump's actions "outrageous".

Sorry Sarasota...most of us want to give it back to them instead of turning the other cheek.

Get our awesome country back by slapping the enemy down just as they do with us. Screw them.

While nobody wants to be mean, this is very obviously a fight for America. It’s far more important to me the the person in charge not be swayed by any kind of pc at all...do what needs to be done - safe zones and micro aggressions etc be damned.

Trump did move his arms like the nytimes writer. But that’s how the writer moves his arms. Is that mocking or is that honest truth? Does it matter?

Mitt Romney is by most accounts a gentleman. Perhaps you would prefer Trump emulate him?

Why doesnt trump just stop with the mocking and move on in a more appropriate manner. Like a gentleman, for example.

Yeah, like McCain, or Romney. That is the ticket. Not!

It does not matter one bit how Trump acts, or what he says, the media will distort, misquote, or just lie.

I am sick and tired of Republicans having to play “nice” while getting crapped on.

The voters will decide if they do not like what Trump is saying or how he acts. Certainly Democrat voters do not care if their candidate is “nice” or a “gentleman” or even honest or not a sexual predator.

So, don’t like Trump, simple, don’t support him or vote for him. Me, I would like to see him get even meaner and nastier.

But that is just me and my 2 cents worth.

They are going absolutely nuts because they more they criticize him the more popular he gets. The NY Daily news in particular is going completely off the wall. After Trump called them a failed paper for badmouthing him, they’ve been on a mission to call him racist every single day. They are so nuts that they actually hired the male Rachel Dolezal, this white guy Shaun King who makes pretend he is black to write an article every single day how Trump is a racist.......

Romney and McCain were perfect gentlemen. Modern politics is a barroom brawl. I’ll leave the math to you.

I don’t care if a reporter is disabled. Trump was attacking his biased reporting, not his handicap.

Liberals in the media lie constantly. People hate them.

I remember back in 1972 liberals had a grand old time pushing wheelchairs with signs on them that said “George Wallace Doesn’t Stand for His Country.” Since it was liberals doing it, it must be ok.

I love Trump’s fearless war against PC garbage, but I really think this kind of thing is the wrong kind of behavior for a President. It’s one thing to make fun of their ridiculous ideas, but making fun of a person’s illness or appearance is really not the behavior of the kind of gentleman or lady I want for President. I’m not going to bad mouth Trump but I think this is a serious flaw in a candidate.

One more reason my preferred candidate is Ted Cruz: he is always genial and courteous. To me, this was a hallmark of Reagan’s popularity. The media ridiculed him as an “affable dunce”, but people loved him for his decency. It is an American quality that goes back to George Washington: tough as nails, but ever the gentleman, courteous, fair and gracious, even in victory.

Serge Kovaleski was sent by the NY Times to Alaska to stalk Sarah Palin in Wasilla for months to trash her and her family.

Kovaleski and the NYT have use his handicapped status as an intimidation tactic and it’s fair payback by Trump.

Trump did say thousands. But it was used in a manner that most intelligent people would have interpreted as “many.”

The problem is that since the Clintons were in office reporters parse every spoken word for accuracy and implied meaning.

They think everyone speaks “lawyer.”

The NY Times needs to relax.

The press as well as the GOPe are apoplectic about being outside looking in at a Donald Trump Presidency. Everyone is supposed to know their place in this charade we call the “American Political Process.” Donald Trump is not beholding to any of them. They feel their relevancy is slipping away.

Serge uses his handicapped status to intimidate people into not criticizing his hit pieces on Sarah Palin and others.

Just because he’s crippled doesn’t mean he gets a free pass from criticism.

I'm all in for Trump, as he's the right man for these times. Mygosh, look at the good he's already done, shaking things up and causing more people to speak for themselves.

But I don't disagree with you. A good rule of thumb is never criticize someone for things they have no control over. They can be criticized, but for other things.
