Former New Hampshire GOP chair moves to take Trump off the ballot
Hot Air ^ | November 24, 2015 | JAZZ SHAW

A former chairman of the New Hampshire Republican Party says Donald Trump should not be on the Republican presidential primary ballot on Feb. 9 because the GOP frontrunner has not proven he is a registered Republican and has expressed views “inconsistent” with the state and national party’s platform and by laws.

In his usual, understated fashion, Trump’s campaign manager Corey Lewandowski responded by saying that if this move were approved, “Mr. Trump’s supporters would probably riot in the streets of New Hampshire.”

Normally I’d shrug off a comment like that as typical campaign rhetoric, but in this case it’s probably much closer to reality than hyperbole. Just this weekend I had a conversation with one family in Nashua who I’ve gotten to know quite well through my various trips there and I could easily picture them looking around for some pitchforks and torches. These are people who are heavily involved in the state legislature battleground and really have their finger on the pulse of the GOP community up there. I’m here to tell you that they are All Trump All The Time.

The most common words I hear associated with the real estate tycoon in these conversations are fight and fighter. The dire nature of the situation with ISIS and the very real and present threat to America posed by radical Islamic terror has people paying attention and they are looking for somebody who is ready to fight. It’s a very H.L. Mencken atmosphere in some quarters of New Hampshire and Trump’s appeal seems to be that he’s the guy who is ready to spit upon his hands, hoist the black flag, and begin slitting throats.

This idiot is a perfect example of why the Repub Party is in the turmoil it is in and why it lost the last two presidential elections. They keep this crap up and the next one will be lost too.

The dire ISIS situation and the very real threat to America posed by radical Islamic terror has people paying attention....they are looking for somebody who is ready to fight.

You can put that on stone tablets.

Trump is far from being an evangelical.....and to my knowledge has not made appeals to them. But an evangelical pastor on BOR said his congregation rose en masse when he quoted Trump's "I'll bomb the crap out of them." Later another 200,000 evangelicals downloaded the pastor's message.

So this "loyalty pledge" only goes one way... Got it.

Do it, and I will not vote.

Games like this are going to hand the election to Hillary.

The GOPe scum would be much happier with Hitlary than either Trump or Cruz. I think they would welcome Trump running third party for that very reason.

Lewandowski is an idiot. My sources on the ground in New Hampshire tell me that Trump has sufficient organization in place to actually run a successful write-in campaign should it be necessary.

New Hampshire has a relatively small, highly engaged and educated (and with a very inflated view of self-importace) group of voters to make such an outcome entirely possible.

The bigger challenge is whether Bernie Sanders can continue to put up enough of a fight to keep Democrats from voting in the Republican primary in sufficient numbers.

All these rather strange attacks by the gope can’t possibly help any of the other candidates, and is more likely to backfire, and increase Trump’s lead. If that is the case, fire away.

That Liz Mair is a real fruit-cake. I read that she only managed to raise less than $600 before she closed down her gofundme page.

“then Trump runs independent and Hillary wins.”

Except that Hillary wouldn’t win, Trump would...

I actually hope these corrupt well connected insiders try this. The more these lying political sultans of sham are exposed, the better.

>>The GOPe continues to marginalize itself. Can you envision the Dems intentionally alienating their base?

We aren’t their base anymore. They consider their base to be Globalists and Progressive crony capitalists. We are their plantation voters. Or, we WERE their plantation voters. We’re on the run now and Trump is our Underground Railroad. They can’t catch us, but they sure can try to disrupt the railroad.

Fergus Cullen is the guys name. You may not know him by that name when they have to put him in the WITNESS PROTECTION PROGRAM. People will be hunting Fergus during hunting season.

Exactly. The eGOP pledge is going to bite them in the ass as expected. Trump was smart to eagerly sign it.

From what I’ve read in the past regarding this, every presidential election cycle people come out of the woodwork to try to get someone off the ballot. It happens every four years like clockwork and is a predictable tradition.

And

Statement NHGOP Chairman:

“It is not the role of the Republican Party to determine eligibility beyond verifying party affiliation, and as Mr. Trump is a registered Republican in the state of New York, he is eligible to compete in New Hampshire’s presidential primary. We do not support any effort to challenge his filing,” Zona said in a statement.”

The GOPe is controlled by the Central Bankers, George Soros and the like. These people will not let control of the exchequer fall out of their hands easily. And yes they will risk riots in the streets if necessary to keep Trump out of the White House. Heck, they WANT riots in the streets. The more to justify national martial law. The evil of these people is beyond comprehension. So, I fully expect the GOPe to move in a parliamentary fashion against Trump if he goes into the Convention as the apparent winner. I’ve seen the GOP do this before here in Utah to fix the Governor’s race. They are corrupt and treacherous.

Even mentioning the idea will enhance Trump's poll numbers. Every direction the GOPe and Jeb turn there's a garden rake waiting to be stepped on.

They just don’t get it. The number of voters at this point who are 100% onboard with the Chamber of Commerce and Republican Moderates is TINY. 15% of the electorate, at best.
