Trump Rally Columbus, OH After-action report.
Self | 11/23/2015 | LS

We four arrived at the Convention Center at 6:30. There were a good 50 protesters and counter-protesters out front, real whack Jo's (some chick with a megaphone talking about some galactic something or other).

Once inside, it looked like a good 8000-10,000, but I never got a good view of the full crowd. It was hard to hear him at times. He delivered his standard speech, "build the wall," beat China on trade, build up the military, get rid of Obamacare. He went over the latest polls, didn't bash Jeb, Carson, or Rubio.

He didn't say as much on the refugees as I hoped, but mentioned Paris and the prospect that a couple of the people were armed would have made a difference.

When he talked about beating Hillary, two chubby kids in front of us pulled out little 8 X 11 sheets of paper with Hillary's logo on it. I laughed and the twerp turned around. I said, "You're insignificant. The media can't show your stupid sign without getting the crowd in too." They just looked fat and clueless.

Overall, I've heard better speeches from him, but this was the first time in OH so it was meat and potatoes.

On the You Tube link the speech was awesome— acoustics make a yuuuge difference. Seems like every rally now Trump has some moron protesters. Leftist drecks are classless scum— no wonder they gravitate towards their corrupted Rats.

From the Columbus Dispatch:

“The last of the tickets were claimed by Friday evening, with Eventbrite reporting it is sold out.

The Trump campaign has booked enough room at the Greater Columbus Convention Center for its 7 p.m. event to hold more than 15,000 people.” -snip-

I’ve listened to most, if not all, of his speeches on line since he’s announced. Though he did not mention those things, he was much more focused on terrorism and was on fire tonight. The passion and connection with the crowd was palpable. I hope I have his enthusiasm and energy when I’m his age.

I think that was possibly my favorite speech of his of the dozen or so I’ve watched. I was actually relieved that he brought in more stuff than usual beyond just his standard stump speech.

I especially appreciated his recollections of 9/11—how he could see the Twin Towers from his apartment, how he watched the second plane hit and saw people jumping to their deaths, how he knew several people who were killed, etc. No wonder he’s hardline on terrorism. And I’m glad he quoted from the WaPo article about the people celebrating the attacks in Jersey City. He sure hit the waterboarding stuff hard too.

He actually had to book 2 rooms to get a 15,000 crowd capacity. I figured that was what he would do. Seems there were still people pouring in and so I wonder if they were people who didn’t get there early but still had tickets. Actually, the employment rate in Columbus is quite low, so I’m assuming many had to work until 5:00, so they couldn’t get there very early.

That was heartbreaking when he relayed the details of seeing people jump to their deaths. My, oh my!! Someone said that Trump changed after 9/11. I’ll bet this scenario did the trick.

agreed he now knows the 911 needs to be part of the conversation and how this is not finished. the guy looks like he will make the world work again. at least for 10 years.
