Donald Trump corrected reports from the media suggesting that he actually wanted a government database for all Muslim Americans to be registered in order to stop terrorism.
âI didnât suggest a database â a reporter did,â he wrote on Twitter moments ago. âWe must defeat Islamic terrorism and have surveillance, including a watch list, to protect America.â
The media spent most of the day reacting to Trumpâs positive reaction to a question posed by reporters as to whether he supported a plan to register American Muslims.

Don’t doubt it. Cruz took the MSM misquote at face value, and said that unlike Trump, he doesn’t support a registry for all Muslims. Very disappointing.
Thanks, I was about to write the same reply to that dullard Jenny who is making a liberal attempt to smear Cruz.
Cruz did attack Trump.
âIâm a big fan of Donald Trumpâs, but Iâm not a fan of government registries for American citizens,â the Texas senator and GOP presidential candidate said during a stop in Sioux City, according to Bloomberg Politics.
âThe First Amendment protects religious liberty,â Cruz added of his rationale for opposing Trumpâs idea.
I don’t trust the lib media at all. Nobody should. I didn’t bother to look up what Carson or Jeb said. I wouldn’t be surprised if what they said about them is wrong too.
Calling people liar won’t work, check facts, should I call you fool.

If you are listening radio, they are playing Carson comments.
Amen, jenny.
What mistake? Listen to the sound clip. The NBC "reporter" is talking about Muslims and data bases, and Trump is talking about walls and illegal immigration. I don't think Trump was even paying attention to the NBC guy fully. This is much ado about nothing. Just another failed attempt by the liberal media trying to create a "gotcha" moment.
Thank God you published this story. I saw that exchange and Trump was quite coherent and would look at improving database gaps and is not opposed to considering it where necessary.
The nasty NBC reporter was intent on laying a trap, was partly inaudible, but all the crap came from the reporter who was televised laying the trap. Obviously, the inaudible played a role, but TRUMP aced the trap test, in a presidential fashion, like his best performance ever!
His face, posture and attitude were taken together as a pristine vision of a president full of confidence, courage and strength.
Media will have a tough run on this when you see the language and the back and forth.
Even the Republican opponent candidates will not be able to play with this little stink bomb for very long.
It doesn’t matter if it’s a lie or not - the meme is out. That’s all that matters.
Remember several sayings of The Left:
“IT’S NOT THE FACTS OF THE CASE, IT’S THE SERIOUSNESS OF THE CHARGE!”
“THE ISSUE IS NEVER THE ISSUE - THE ISSUE IS THE REVOLUTION!”
“RIDICULE IS MAN’S MOST POTENT WEAPON.”
Enjoy this little stink bomb placement while you can.
It was Trump’s best improvisational performance ever. He was pitch perfect and looked it.
The next president— that’s how well he handled it on camera.
What is said about the exchange is nothing like the moment.
It was damn splendid and in Trump fashion, deadly serious.
So Cruz disagrees with something that was essentially made up by a reporter and you call that disparaging?
The media is the attack arm of the democrat party.
You’re right. And, you know I’m a rabid Trump supporter.
Lots of words are being put into Trump’s mouth in this exchange with the NBC reporter. And lots of meanings are being put into what Cruz actually said and what he did NOT say.
Trump nor Cruz said anything about ALL Muslim Americans.
TRUMP said they had to come in LEGALLY, which is missing from nearly all the discussion, in that exchange with the reporter.
Cruz took issue with the idea of marking Muslim in a whole sale fashion. He cited the Constitutional protections, etc., in place against a whole sale abuse of citizen Muslims.
Key here is that neither Trump nor Cruz are against formulating a database for foreign fighters ISIS coming in through a “refugee” system that has no database, presently! Period.
NSA, FBI CIA, JUSTICE, all together say we have no database.
Of course, Trump wants a database. So does Cruz, I have no doubt of that, but neither said anything about ALL American citizen Muslims.
Trump replied to NBC, about certain mosques and mentioned ILLEGALS. THat would include embedded ISIS “refugees!
it was Democrats that proposed it via their Media branch.
Funny thing is, democrats have no problem registering
and keeping a data base of American gun owners but
don’t want to keep track of Islamic terrorist/supporters...
Not funny haha...
Watch How Ted Cruz Handles Persistent Reporter’s Attempts to Get Him to ‘Attack’ Donald Trump
http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/3363077/posts
“I’m a big fan of Donald Trump’s, but I’m not a fan of government registries of Americans citizens,” he said when asked about Trump’s remarks on the need for a Muslim-tracking database. “The First Amendment protects religious liberty, and I’ve spent the past several decades defending the religious liberty of every American.”
When a reporter then pressed him on whether he was concerned about Trump’s “messaging” as the frontrunner, Cruz shut down the line of questioning.
“Listen, I like Donald Trump. I recognize the media would love to get me and other candidates to attack Donald Trump,” Cruz added. “There may be other candidates who want to do that — I ain’t going to do it. So, I’ll tell you my policy views, but I have no interest in attacking Donald Trump or, for that matter, attacking Ben Carson. Both are good men. And I’m not interested in throwing rocks at either one of them.”
Can you direct me to where Cruz has disparaged Trump?
Thanks ahead of time
It’s a current leftist tactic to put words in your mouth, “So you’re saying...”, that you never said and then they get outraged by what you never said...
Exactly as they planned to do.
