ADL 'deeply disappointed' with GOP governors for refusal to accept Syrian refugees

BOSTON - The Anti-Defamation League said it is "deeply disappointed" with GOP governors, including Massachusetts Gov. Charlie Baker, for refusing to accept Syrian refugees after Friday's ISIS attacks that killed 129 people and injured more than 430 others in Paris.

"This country must not give into fear or bias by turning its back on our nation's fundamental commitment to refugee protection and human rights," Anti-Defamation League CEO Jonathan A. Greenblatt said Monday, urging governors to keep their doors open during the humanitarian crisis.

"Now is precisely the time to stand up for our core values, including that we are a proud nation of immigrants," Greenblatt said. "To do otherwise signals to the terrorists that they are winning the battle against democracy and freedom."

Baker said he will not allow Massachusetts to accept any Syrian refugees until he learns more about how the federal government plans to screen them. "I would say no as of right now. I'm not interested in accepting refugees from Syria," he said Monday. "I would need to know a lot more than I know now before I agree to do anything."

After the Paris attacks, Baker and fellow Republican governors in Alabama, Arizona, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Louisiana, Maine, Mississippi, Nebraska, North Carolina, Ohio, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas and Wisconsin announced they would not take in refugees trying to escape the violence in Syria, USA Today reports.

The concern, according to the Republican state leaders, is that Syrian refugees seeking resettlement in the United States might include people with terrorist ties. As of Monday evening, only one Democratic governor, Maggie Hassan of New Hampshire, had joined the chorus of GOP governors opposed to accepting refugees.

President Barack Obama has called on the U.S. to accept up to 10,000 refugees from Syria, where fighting has displaced millions, but Baker and other state leaders remain skeptical. However, the governor did not entirely rule out accepting refugees in the future, if the feds establish an appropriate vetting process.

The ADL, which fights anti–Semitism and promotes fair and humane immigration policies, has called Europe's current migrant crisis "the worst since World War II." The Jewish community is particularly affected by images of Syrians – more than half of the refugees hail from Syria – being uprooted from their homeland "only to find they are unwanted anyplace else," Greenblatt said.

"Many of these refugees are fleeing the same terrorists who perpetrated the horrendous attacks on Paris," he said.

The ADL has joined with several other Jewish organizations to form the Jewish Coalition for Syrian Refugees in Jordan in response to the humanitarian crisis resulting from Syria's civil war.

The Soros run ADL wants Jews in America to be subject to the terror of Malmostan

You are under the Delusion that the Soros-owned ADL is still Zionist and cares about the safety of Jews.

No, the ADL doesn't view this as a way of targeting Jews in the U.S., it views this as a way to further fragment and weaken whites. Bring in foreigners from all over the world - Syria, Mexico, Nigeria, Venezuela, wherever. Anyone will do.

The Patriotic Governors should have the National Guard greet every Airplane full of Syrians.

They should make sure the Plane is refueled and sent back to where they came, or to Colorado.

All that you quoted is true.

True

And you fail miserably at meeting God’s perfect standard that requires us to follow each and every bit of the Law to the fullest extent.

Are you really writing about yourself ?

How often do you order your wife to live out of the house when she is on her period?

  1. Is this an evangelistic seminar question someone taught you to ask Jews or did it originate in your own heart ?
  2. What type of faith community do you regularly assemble with, or would it be too embarrassing for you to associate them with your question ?

And he called the multitude, and said unto them, Hear, and understand: Not that which goeth into the mouth defileth a man; but that which cometh out of the mouth, this defileth a man.

"You are under the Delusion that the Soros-owned ADL is still Zionist and cares about the safety of Jews."

I wasn't aware that Soros controls the ADL. I was aware that the ADL has morphed into something that doesn't seem to enhance the safety of Jews. One only need to look to Europe to see that with enough Muslims any state will become unsafe for Jews.

Thus, their support for massive Muslim immigration into the USA is counter-productive, in my opinion. As are the undying support of Jews for liberal policies, Democratic politicians, and black "Civil Rights" positions and organizations.

Here is a nice tour of the utter devastation done to the Detroit Jewish community by another ethnic group with deep hostility towards them.

Temple Beth El, Detroit. Now a theater.

Previously a synagogue, Beth Israel, in Detroit, now a Baptist church.

Tushiyah United Hebrew Schools is located a short distance behind the Detroit Institute of Arts. Boarded up and no longer in use.

Ahavath Zion congregation, now the Alpha Omega Spiritual Church of Christ

Congregation Beth Moses now also a Baptist church.

Avis Achim, now a Pentecostal Church of God.

B'nai Jacob, now Sharon Community Church

Amarath Temple, now owned by the Masons.

Shaarey Torah, now House of God church.

Contributions to the ADL, and its budget and influence, is half what it was a decade ago.

Hopefully contributions to the Democratic party and various liberal causes will follow a similar path in the next few years.

They do have a death wish. It’s almost as if they want to pretend the world will love them, if they just play “nice” with their enemies.

Won’t happen. Adults are needed at the ADL.

All liberals have a death wish for us.

Be them “Jews” or “Christians” or “Cultists”.

Of course I’m writing about myself. I’m no better than any other human, including you.

>>What type of faith community do you regularly assemble with, or would it be too embarrassing for you to associate them with your question ?

I’m a Presbyterian (PCA, not PCUSA). Perhaps the question was poorly written, but the intent is that we cannot live perfectly under the law. We can sure try, but we cannot achieve the perfection that is required.

BTW, it isn’t a seminar question. It is from Leviticus 15:19-33.

Mr Greenblatt’s neighborhood needs to be first to be filled with these ... ah, “refugees.” There is certainly room for 50 or so refugees at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue, Washington, DC.

Bravo for your courage and honesty.

Perhaps the question was poorly written,

Perhaps ?

but the intent is that we cannot live perfectly under the law. We can sure try, but we cannot achieve the perfection that is required.

Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven. Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil. For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled. Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven. For I say unto you, That except your righteousness shall exceed the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, ye shall in no case enter into the kingdom of heaven.

Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect.

Matthew, Catholic chapter five, Protestant verses sixteen to twenty, and forty eight,
as authorized, but not authored, by King James

BTW, it isn’t a seminar question. It is from Leviticus 15:19-33.

There is no question in that portion of Leviticus. Can you imagine the kind of man who would ask the Messiah that question ? Can you see how inappropriate it is on several levels ?

>>Bravo for your courage and honesty.

There is no courage involved. I have nothing to hide. I don’t try to shame people into not asking tough questions about my beliefs.

I mean, really? “Would you ask Jesus that question??” LOL

>>Can you imagine the kind of man who would ask the Messiah that question ? Can you see how inappropriate it is on several levels ?

Why would I ask Jesus that question?? He isn’t married and living with a woman who menstruates. But, I bet that he followed that law to the letter when he was living in a home with his mother.

But I would ask him why the Jews denied him when he spent his entire ministry trying to reach them. I would ask him why they continue to deny him even after the loss of their Temple, the Ark, the High Priest, and the subsequent ability to fulfill the Law.

I might ask him, but only after I asked a lot more pressing questions.

So, how do you deal with all the times that “shall” appears in those verses?

Are you certain you have not just asked Him without realizing you did ?

But I would ask him why the Jews denied him when he spent his entire ministry trying to reach them. I would ask him why they continue to deny him even after the loss of their Temple, the Ark, the High Priest, and the subsequent ability to fulfill the Law.

Do you really care ?

The parable of the prodigal son comes to mind, and then you have the explanation of the Apostle to the Gentiles that it is through the temporary blindness in part of Israel that the Gentiles have access to the kingdom. The Jews are beloved, and you would not even have a Bible without the Jews. The one holy catholic apostolic church was founded on Jews.

Even when wandering in the world the Jew is a sign of God. Consider Leonard Cohen who wrote

Now I've heard there was a secret chord
That David played, and it pleased the Lord
But you don't really care for music, do you?
It goes like this
The fourth, the fifth
The minor fall, the major lift
The baffled king composing Hallelujah

Hallelujah
Hallelujah
Hallelujah
Hallelujah

Your faith was strong but you needed proof
You saw her bathing on the roof
Her beauty and the moonlight overthrew you
She tied you to a kitchen chair
She broke your throne, and she cut your hair
And from your lips she drew the Hallelujah

Hallelujah, Hallelujah
Hallelujah, Hallelujah
You say I took the name in vain
I don't even know the name
But if I did, well really, what's it to you?
There's a blaze of light
In every word
It doesn't matter which you heard
The holy or the broken Hallelujah

Hallelujah, Hallelujah
Hallelujah, Hallelujah

I did my best, it wasn't much
I couldn't feel, so I tried to touch
I've told the truth, I didn't come to fool you
And even though it all went wrong
I'll stand before the Lord of Song
With nothing on my tongue but Hallelujah

I might ask him, but only after I asked a lot more pressing questions. So, how do you deal with all the times that “shall” appears in those verses?

At the same time, saith the Lord, will I be the God of all the families of Israel, and they shall be my people. Thus saith the Lord, The people which were left of the sword found grace in the wilderness; even Israel, when I went to cause him to rest. The Lord hath appeared of old unto me, saying, Yea, I have loved thee with an everlasting love: therefore with lovingkindness have I drawn thee.

Thus saith the Lord, which giveth the sun for a light by day, and the ordinances of the moon and of the stars for a light by night, which divideth the sea when the waves thereof roar; The Lord of hosts is his name: If those ordinances depart from before me, saith the Lord, then the seed of Israel also shall cease from being a nation before me for ever. Thus saith the Lord; If heaven above can be measured, and the foundations of the earth searched out beneath, I will also cast off all the seed of Israel for all that they have done, saith the Lord.

And the word of the Lord came unto Jeremiah, saying, Thus saith the Lord; If ye can break my covenant of the day, and my covenant of the night, and that there should not be day and night in their season; Then may also my covenant be broken with David my servant, that he should not have a son to reign upon his throne; and with the Levites the priests, my ministers. As the host of heaven cannot be numbered, neither the sand of the sea measured: so will I multiply the seed of David my servant, and the Levites that minister unto me. Moreover the word of the Lord came to Jeremiah, saying, Considerest thou not what this people have spoken, saying, The two families which the Lord hath chosen, he hath even cast them off? thus they have despised my people, that they should be no more a nation before them. Thus saith the Lord; If my covenant be not with day and night, and if I have not appointed the ordinances of heaven and earth; Then will I cast away the seed of Jacob and David my servant, so that I will not take any of his seed to be rulers over the seed of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob: for I will cause their captivity to return, and have mercy on them.

Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass, till all these things be fulfilled. Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away. But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only.

Jeremiah, Catholic chapter thirty one, Protestant verses one to three, and thirty five to thirty seven,
Jeremiah, Catholic chapter thirty three, Protestant verses nineteen to twenty six,
Matthew, Catholic chapter twenty four, Protestant verses thirty four to thirty six,

>>Are you certain you have not just asked Him without realizing you did ?

In that case, he heard the question before I typed it.

>>Do you really care ?

Yes. Actually I do care. My fundamentalist and Baptist friends have this fetish for the modern-day nation-state of Israel, with little or no knowledge of the disposition of the Jewish people after the events of the first century AD.
