The Washington Post reports that a local reporter caught up with Carson about the infamous case when he was in town in Florida for a speaking engagement. From the report:
"We face those kinds of issues all the time and while I don't believe in euthanasia, you have to recognize that people that are in that condition do have a series of medical problems that occur that will take them out," he said. "Your job [as a doctor] is to keep them comfortable throughout that process and not to treat everything that comes up."
When the reporter asked whether Carson thought it was necessary for Congress to intervene, he said: "I don't think it needed to get to that level. I think it was much ado about nothing."

HOW many times will this SAME story be posted on FR?
Do you come here often?
Normally I'd agree, but this is a very, very big deal.
Sorry, I did check several keywords, and nothing came up ... I did not think to plug in the entire title. Thought keywords “Carson” and “Schiavo” would be sufficient.
That happened to me about three times. I checked, nothing came up, and then my threads were removed.
Hey, if we ‘re going to condemn Jeb for his coldness toward Terri being snuffed, Carson’s blase’ attitude deserves it just as much.
In that quote he sounds like the chairman of a death panel!
Life is cheap to liberals.
No matter how many times it’s posted, it needs to be seen. That was horrific what was done to that girl. Anyone who holds the opinion that it was no big deal needs to be held to account many times a day.

Carson thinks the federal and state governments overreached when they attempted to protect Terri Schiavo from a painful 14-day starvation and dehydration death. Despite the best efforts of pro-life lawmakers in Congress and the Florida state legislature, where lawmakers approved pro-life laws to allow Terriâs family to take their case to federal courts and to allow then-Governor Jeb Bush to try to protect... |

His much ado about nothing” actually made my jaw drop - and, these days, that is a rare happening. Starving somebody to death is no big deal? I wonder if Dr. Carson has ever actually witnessed a person die of dehydration - it is an excruciatingly agonizing death.
I never saw this on FR today, so thanks for posting it (again). I didn’t support Carson in the first place, but this confirms my concerns about Mr. Nice Guy. Jeb was a coward for not intervening, but Ben, if you think this was much ado, then stick a fork in your pro-life cred.
Deal breaker.
Hopefully he will descend to single digits nationally like the Gravis poll in NH
Ben Carson is a nutty nut nutter. He needs to be gone. Soon.
Would Carson say the same thing about one of his young patients
who died?
I don’t think so.
Well, that seals it for me. I’ve been on the fence about Carson, but no more. He’s made too many flubs for me. Sure hope he isn’t the nominee.
It seems that he’s defending Jeb. How do we know he wouldn’t direct any delegates he has to support Jeb?
“Anyone who holds the opinion that it was no big deal needs to be held to account many times a day.”
AMEN! I have posted Terri Schaivo in the key words of EVERY Yeb! post in this place. I’ll start doing the same for Caron posts.
*SPIT*
Yeah. They’re both SO much smarter than me. So ‘nuanced.’
Eff that!
