GOP presidential candidate Donald Trump returned to the great state of Texas on Saturday during his quest to âMake America Great Again.â As this video shows, he spoke for over an hour, which is his new plan of action. His campaign has transformed into a series of long-winded monologues that feel like heâs trying to convince himself to stay in the race.
Perhaps Trump has realized that heâd take a significant pay cut as president, which isnât as much of a joke as reality. To Trump, money is the ultimate motivator, and (as he enjoys reminding us) heâs poured a lot of his own cash into this campaign. During this speech in Beaumont, Trump made his thoughts on the Paris terrorist attacks known. He believes that Franceâs strong gun control laws did nothing to deter the attackers, and he says that armed civilians could have helped diffuse the situation:
âWhen you look at Paris, toughest gun laws in the world, nobody had guns but the bad guys. Nobody had guns. And they were just shooting them one by one, and then they broke in and had a big shootout and ultimately killed the terrorists. And I will tell you what â you can say what you want, if they had guns, if our people had guns, if they were allowed to carry, it would have been a much, much different situation.â
This isnât the only occasion Trump has used a tragedy to further his own agenda, and it certainly isnât the first time he criticized gun control in France. Following the January Charlie Hebdo attacks, Trump tweeted, âIsnât it interesting that the tragedy in Paris took place in one of the toughest gun control countries in the world?â
Donald J. Trump â â@realDonaldTrump Isnât it interesting that the tragedy in Paris took place in one of the toughest gun control countries in the world?

Trump is the first of all the candidates to oppose immigration, and the first to oppose middle east refugee immigration, and the first to call for an attack on the oil resource of the terrorists, and the first to call for the wall, the first to call lack of guns in Europe a problem.
Instead we’re getting a dose of Linday Graham, Jeb Bush, and Ben Carson this morning.
All have supported amnesty in some form or other, and now of a sudden they’re the hawks. What a crock!
Gotta be compassionate, it’s an act of love, give ‘em green cards....that’s all the other candidates except recently Cruz sided with Trump.
Pretty much the events of last week handed to Mr. Trump the 2016 Presidential election.
I'm waiting for a Carson rant......"See, see...just like Hitler and the German folks."
And I can hardly wait, I know he is ready to get started NOW. IF ONLY!!!!
And the UK Daily Mail was hailing the fact the victims were unarmed stating that it would have been worse what with people shooting all over the place. The Europeans have this Hollyweird and MSM idea of what defensive protection is using a firearm. It is for my defense, not yours.
Trump creates the impression that he will be a CAN DO President. That is why he has lead all along...
Yet another example of carnage in a gun-free zone/country. Had only one of the sheeple who lied down and wait to be shot when ordered to do so had the ability to cap those bastards, what would the death toll have been?
I do not know it an armed citizenry could have prevented the attack, but I would think there would have been fewer casualties.
But then again, probably not, since like here the concert hall and the soccer stadium would have been “gun free zones”.
Na. Trump is wrong on this one.
The point might be proven in America.
Trump should tell Putin that he’ll have more flexibility to help take out ISIS with Russia after the election! Ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha. Take that Obie!
The devious Rubio MIGHT also be changing his view but lacks credibility. If he wins, he will go back to his previous position. His major donor is frantic for amnesty and same-sex marriage.
Sometimes it is downright eerie how events that confirm and demonstrate the accuracy of Trumps observations seem to spring up out of nowhere.
I’s as if he was reading next week’s headlines.
But it really is just common sense and a willingness to state what we all know to be true but never hear from the media or the traitors and spineless politicians we have for leaders.
If France has the toughest gun control law, then how could the citizens sing their national anthem and believe every word?
I always found “La Marseillaise” very powerful.
Somehow this idiot blogster doesn’t even think it’s necessary to say why she thinks Trump is wrong. It’s just assumed that everyone agrees with her, probably because everyone she knows does.
In my mind it did, but the Fox led anti-Trump media had planned this to be a weekend of TDS (Trump Derangement Syndrome)...they were going to proclaim loudly the lie that Trump called Iowans stupid. (Which he didn’t....he said those who believe Carson’s knife broke would have to be stupid to believe that crap.)
In any case, Paris ruined their plans, so they’ve turned to their ‘tough guy’ big guns: Bush, Graham, and Carson.
Sheeesh. Freepers would have to be stupid to believe these amnesty advocates are tough guys.
Trump is 100% correct one more time.
not even close. Cruz was fighting this battle long before Trump decided to play politician.
What is Uproxx? I never heard of it, and all the commenters there appear to be left wing liberal moonbats.
It’s like Civil War vet, Sam Watkins, wrote in ‘Company Aytch’...”I shot at those who was shootin’ at me.”
Exactly.
