Trump has leapt some 17 percentage points among likely Republican voters since Nov. 6, when he was essentially tied with Ben Carson at about 25 percent. Trump now captures 42 percent of those voters while Carson has fallen off slightly.

Among all Republicans – not simply likely primary voters – Trump holds a substantial edge over Carson, at 34 percent to about 20 percent, according to the Reuters/Ipsos poll.

If the GOP doesn’t put a bonifide social conservation in the top spot on the ticket, I will not support that individual in the general election.

You just described George W. Bush and that worked out so well.

“Yes! He was very wise to shut everything down in deference to this catastrophe in France.”

I haven’t found that thread yet - what did he do?

Trump by now has jumped so many sharks, we can enter him in Olympic games in Hurdles!

I am keeping some powder dry for just that event. I really think it is coming in 2016.

I can only say that I respectfully disagree with your premise, and therefore with your conclusion.

Don’t give Americans an ultimatum. They will always make the wrong decision!

Most Americans won’t ever know what happened in Paris: bombings here, bombings there, pretty soon the American people can’t remember what was bombed or who did the bombing.

My feelings/beliefs on the primary and general election is this. If the GOP doesn’t put a bonifide social conservation in the top spot on the ticket, I will not support that individual in the general election. Thus, I will not support Mr. Trump or Dr. Carson. Having Senator Cruz as the running mate to Mr. Trump just ruins Senator Cruz in my eyes. I would not vote for that ticket either.

Why wait, I recommend that you take your little ball and just go home now.

Trump has said he would have left issues like same-sex unions to the states, and he is all for defending the rights of Christians, so I’m wondering which other social issues you would disagree with Trump on.

“For me, the fact is I find Trump untrustworthy for his embrace of socialized medicine, for his embrace of eminent domain not for a public use but to transfer one person’s private property to another, for his lack of familiarity with the Constitution and for his mindless bombast.”

Some valid concerns.

Having recognized no candidate is perfect, I believe Trump alone has what we need:

An understanding and commitment that immigration must begin with sending illegals back and preventing the continual infiltration across the border.

An intimate understanding of money in politics and how to leverage it.

Thick skin to not care about the whining left.

Commitment to the 2nd amendment.

Commitment to changing the economic equation in our country and in our dealings with other countries.

I believe he is the only one tough enough to bring the fight to Hillary or Bernie and do whatever it takes to win at this crucial moment in history.

He absolutely needs Cruz by his side to check his impulses against the Constitution.

Every other candidate is more of the same ongoing overspending, crony capitalism and failure to act as we go off a cliff.

I am glad your opinions are not supported by majority of voters. I am not looking to elect a religious head of state. I am more interested in a candidate who is for America First with no guilt. And one who will not be in the pockets of his rich donors.

If he hadn’t pardoned those killers, Huckabee would be acceptable. He is very good in the debates if one listens.

I dov not need Trump’s protection. I do not want Trump’s protection. For me, the fact is I find Trump untrustworthy for his embrace of socialized medicine, for his embrace of eminent domain not for a public use but to transfer one person’s private property to another, for his lack of familiarity with the Constitution and for his mindless bombast. He is entertaining, but in my opinion he would be a disaster of a President on the scale of Obama. I don’t want a "new boss same as the old boss".

Yeah - anyone who doesn't cross all our personal "T's" and dot all our personal "I's" is "every bit as bad as Obama - no wonder we are in such dire straits - even those who claim to be on our side are idiots who refuse to defeat evil unless they get the bonus of having everyone's farts smell of fresh baked apple pie.

They also tend to be non-supporters of imperfect trifles like "the candidate of their choice and FR".

Now for a short public service announcement to all on FR:
I prefer Cruz and my money goes to his campaign, hence the Cruz link. If you like someone else, donate to him/her (find your own link to do it) and if you use FR and don't donate, then please don't complain about the welfare leeches or those who have Obama Phones because, functionally, you are no different than any other FReeloader

PS - If you are one of those who cannot afford even a small donation to FR or a candidate, God Bless and happy FReeping!.....

GO CRUZ!! Keep it up Trump!!

Donate to Cruz

Donate to FR

After tonite and what has happened in Paris, France, Trump is going to jump sky high in the polls. Gentle Ben NYQUIL Carson will sink like a stone.
