Jeb Bush and John Kasich Gang Up on Donald Trump at GOP Debate: Immigrant Deportation Is a 'Silly' and Un-American Idea.
Donald Trump took his build-a-wall approach to immigration one step further at the fourth major Republican debate in Milwaukee Tuesday night when he vowed that, if elected president, he'd deport 11 million undocumented immigrants.
That's when Ohio Gov. John Kasich jumped in to rip Trump's plan, saying, "It's a silly argument. It's not an adult argument. We all know you can't pick them up and ship them back across the border."
-snip-
After Bush sarcastically thanked Trump for "allowing" him to speak at the debate, he rejected the billionaire businessman's immigration plan as "not possible."
"It's not embracing American values," Bush said. "And it would tear communities apart and it would send a signal that we're not the kind of country I know America is."

All Trump has to say is that he will first VIGOROUSLY ENFORCE exiting laws, including laws against hiring illegal aliens.
That takes care of most of the problem right there.
I bet the other candidates were thanking their lucky stars they didn’t get stuck with that question. Although Cruz did pipe in more or less on The Donald’s side.
That's not enough.
1) Turnoff of the magnets (jobs and free stuff).
2) Give illegals 60 days to self deport and start building the wall. If they do self deport and return legally, perhaps a path to citizenship.
3) After the 60 day grace period, illegals who did not self deport face prison time, then deportation, and never ever have a path to citizenship.
4) If they're caught here illegally again, life in prison.
Kasich was an arse
I just heard a Cruz clip from the debate last night, he sounded very good on immigration, very very good. This is the first time I heard Cruz take a hard line on immigration. So I am thinking if Cruz continues to take a hard line he might be acceptable on this issue.
works for me.
If so then Bush an Kasich should leap to the top of the polls. Let’s wait and see...
Why did NOBODY mention E-Verify and the resulting SELF-DEPORTATION?!?!??!?
If you canât get a job without passing E-Verify, and employers are fined for violations, then illegals will LEAVE!!
There are other choices besides mass deportation or a blanket amnesty. Attrition thru enforcement works. We have empirical evidence that it does. Why should we reward the lawbreakers with the object of their crime? When you reward something, you get more of it. We had a one-time amnesty in 1986 that was supposed to solve the problem. The USG estimated that 1 million would apply, but the true number turned out to be 2.7 million. We now have 12 to 20 million illegal aliens. Now we are being told that legalizing them will solve the problem. Nonsense. Why the urgency for legalization?
But on immigration they avoided the reality that this country is split on immigration. We attend church and live beside illegals, and sometimes with them. They work hard and appear to be good Christians.
Working hard does not mean you get to stay after breaking multiple laws. In addition to entering this country illegally, they have committed multiple crimes including working illegally, tax evasion, ID theft, lying on employment forms, misusing SSNs, etc.
What kind of message does this send to the 4 million intending immigrants waiting overseas for their turn to enter legally. They have completed all the paperwork including background checks, physicals etc. How fair is it to allow the illegal aliens to jump the line and be allowed to stay and work here? What about the Rule of Law?
What we should do is focus on the 10% of immigrants (both legal and illegal) who are undesireable. Deport those taking welfare. No immigrant, legal or illegal, should come here for welfare. And, of course, target supporters of terrorism and those who oppose the first amendment, and oppose our constitution,. And, of course, target murderers, rapists, Dui drivers.
Deport those who are taking welfare? LOL. It is far more than 10%.
There are an estimated 2 million criminal aliens in this country. A 2011 GAO report details the following:
The number of criminal aliens in federal prisons in fiscal year 2010 was about 55,000, and the number of SCAAP criminal alien incarcerations in state prison systems and local jails was about 296,000 in fiscal year 2009 (the most recent data available), and the majority were from Mexico.
Based on our random sample, GAO estimates that the criminal aliens had an average of 7 arrests, 65 percent were arrested at least once for an immigration offense, and about 50 percent were arrested at least once for a drug offense. Immigration, drugs, and traffic violations accounted for about 50 percent of arrest offenses. About 90 percent of the criminal aliens sentenced in federal court in fiscal year 2009 (the most recently available data) were convicted of immigration and drug-related offenses. About 40 percent of individuals convicted as a result of DOJ terrorism-related investigations were aliens. SCAAP criminal aliens incarcerated in selected state prison systems in Arizona, California, Florida, New York, and Texas were convicted of various offenses in fiscal year 2008 (the most recently available data at the time of GAO's analysis). The highest percentage of convictions for criminal aliens incarcerated in four of these states was for drug-related offenses. Homicide resulted in the most primary offense convictions for SCAAP criminal aliens in the fifth state--New York--in fiscal year 2008. GAO estimates that costs to incarcerate criminal aliens in federal prisons and SCAAP reimbursements to states and localities ranged from about $1.5 billion to $1.6 billion annually from fiscal years 2005 through 2009;
The same report included the fact that 25,000 criminal aliens were charged with homicide.
Where do we draw the line on deportation? We already deport hundreds of thousands of illegals every year even under the lax enforcement under Obama. Is it a question of numbers? We can deport the 2 million criminal aliens but we cannot deport the other lawbreakers? BS. You violate our laws and you suffer the consequences. No country on earth has a policy that immigrants can self-select where they wish to live without regard to the laws of the country.
Sen. Cruz Amendment to Immigration Legislation to Increase H-1B Visas
All the government has to do is stop the money, and control the border. When the money dries up, illegals will blow away like dried leaves back to their home countries. Which they love, by the way.
They didn’t come here because they love America and want to make America great. They came here to get money. It’s as simple as that. Stop feeding them and they will return all by themselves, same way they got here.
Oh, BTW, the end of the line is back in your home country.
I don’t trust Cruz, I think he is a weather vane politician however I will give credit where credit is do. He sounded very good on illegal immigration last night. And long as he keeps sounding good I’ll say nice things about him :)
This is elitist, clueless, nonsensical, and utterly untrue and politically corrected leftist ideology. American values? The rule of law is an American value. Tear communities apart? I've watched community after community in California torn apart by illegal immigrants. AMERICAN communities, you feckless, gutless, insipid moron.
Dwight Eisenhower is lucky that his party wasn’t infested with termites like Jeb, Kasich, and Rubio when he gave us Operation Wetback.
It was the best thing Romney said on the campaign trail, but unfortunately he didn't mean a word of it. He was in favor of sanctuary cities when he was governor, and had to backtrack on this and other liberal positions when running for President. Now, even Marco Rubio is starting to backtrack on his open borders rhetoric. Different face, same strategy.
Agreed. He sounded good on the amnesty issue last night, but as someone who is very engaged on this issue, I know where Cruz stands on immigration and how he parses words to fool and deceive. While he was pointing out last night how illegal aliens are hurting American workers and jobs, he has supported a 500% increase in H-1B visas and the legalization of those already here. Trump is the only one who talks about deportation and building a wall.
You’re absolutely correct. Americans are FED UP!!!
