Teen Girls Don’t Need This New Form of Mysogyny
Catholic Vote ^ | November 5, 2015 | Rebecca Hamilton

Posted on 11/05/2015 3:28:31 PM PST by NYer

The United States Department of Education has given Palatine, Illinois School District 30 days to reach a “solution” that allows a “transgendered” boy who says he is a girl to shower with the girls. Failure to comply could result in the loss of federal Title IX funds.

The young man in question “identifies” as a girl. The school district has allowed him to play on the girls’ sports team. He is called “she” by school staff who refer to him by a female name. He says his “rights” are being violated because the school district asks him to change clothes behind a curtain rather than in front of the girls on the team, and to shower separately from them.

So. We have a teen-aged boy who says that he is a girl. He wants to play sports on a girl’s team and shower and change with the girls. If he is sincere, he’s mentally ill. If he’s not sincere, it’s possible that he’s found a trendy way to gain access to the girl’s locker room for the ultimate peep show.

I know this question is not politically correct, but do the actual girls have any rights in this?

Forcing them to change and shower in the presence of a young man is a psychological violation. It is abuse. Do the words “sexual harassment” ring a bell? How about misogyny?

Female athletes have fought long and hard to be taken seriously. They have had to overcome millennia of discrimination and overt prejudice. They deal with this still.

Now, all their hard-won gains stand to be wiped out. Young female athletes are being forced to choose between playing their sport and being subjected to what amounts to a violation of their most basic rights to privacy and dignity as young women, all because of trendy, politically-correct nihilism.

So far as I know, the “feminist” movement has been silent on this. But the overall issue has set off argument within feminist ranks.

For instance, the absurdity of Bruce Jenner being named “Woman of the Year” by a leading women’s publication raised the hackles of old-time feminist Germaine Greer. She rightly labeled the action “misogyny.” At the same time, other feminists support the faux woman movement.

I find the idea that any woman would support this attack on the female incomprehensible. Yet, sadly, it does not surprise me. The feminist movement that worked so hard to help female athletes win opportunities and respect is dead.

For a long time now, the feminist movement has served as the moral apologist for enterprises that were frankly and openly misogynist, such as purveyors of porn and those who pimp women’s bodies in prostitution. This happened because the feminist movement threw away every other issue in the fight to “save” legal abortion.

The misogynist response to any situation is to ignore the rights of women when those rights are attacked. When the misogynist in question is a conservative, this is excused by an appeal to some sort of hatched up economic imperative.

When the misogynist is liberal, we get a blizzard of phony “rights talk,” which, ironically, ignores absolutely the rights of the female by explaining that the womenfolk must accede their rights to this more pressing and noble need. That is what is happening now.

A feminist defense of female athlete’s rights would counter that. But I don’t expect it to happen.

It looks like it’s up to the parents of these young girls to defend their daughters. I’m sure they are proud of their daughters’ athleticism, and want to see them have opportunities to compete. What are these parents supposed to do? Do they pull their daughters from the team? Do they form other teams for the girls, outside of school?

These are serious questions with serious repercussions. Feminists — real feminists — fought hard to get Title IX money for women’s sports. There was a time, not so long ago, when all that money went to the males and the women athletes were consigned to using second hand and worn-out equipment with no respect and no support.

Are the hard-won gains that women athletes have made going to be tossed away because of a ruling by unelected Department of Education agency personnel who are not answerable to the people? How much misogyny are we willing to allow?

Perhaps the parents of the girls need to get attorneys and file suit. After all, last time I checked, women still have legal rights in these United States of America.

Of course, what really needs to happen is for Congress to step in and fix this. They can, you know. All they have to do is their jobs.

I live in Palatine. There are actually two public high schools in the village of which we live within the boundaries of this HS. Both of these schools are top notch academically and in sports. Fortunately, my wife and I had the wherewithal to send our kids to the local Catholic HS.

The principal and district superintendent vowed to fight this tooth-and-nail, but I don’t know if they have any recourse now. A lot of our neighbors send their kids to Palatine HS. It will be interesting to hear what they have to say. And more important, what they’re going to do. If the school foregoes the Fed funding, then there goes my taxes.

I can believe how silent Feminists are being on things like this.

I got over my disbelief when they threw away decades of “progress” on
sexual harassment in order to save Bill Clinton.

He is equipped with XY chromosomes. This is generally a substantial advantage in sporting activities, and cannot be undone.

This is a bad news, good news story. The bad news is of course that the political class has decided that young perverts should shower with your teenage daughter.

The good news is that some parents who send their children to this freak show masquerading as a government school might, just might, do the intelligent thing and pull their kids out and either home educate them or send them to private schools. There won’t be many but hey, every kid counts.

Oh and by all means keep voting. Because This Time it’ll really, really be different.

Many of them thought pc bs would only help them. Now that some pc bs is not great for them, they have to take it or be exposed as liberal hypocrites, and they dont want that because they stil want all the pc bs that works for them to stay in place.

They cant win everything.

Hi neighbor. I recently moved from Palatine to Barrington. My boys went to Fremd. Is this freak at Fremd or Palatine? From what I have read, I have to say that the way this has been handled seems surprisingly good. Perhaps I am missing something but I am happy to hear that the powers that be have stood up and fought this BS, yes??

I think the answer is very simple. Males that pretend to “think” they are females should enter the female bathrooms in congress and the Supreme court. I guarantee there will be changes. Same thing at the schools. The girls need to sit down and stare at “him”. It is truly appalling that the girls have no right to privacy. Welcome to Obama’s world where up is down and down is up. How did we let it go this far and when will we change it back?

The problem we have becomes very clear if you read The 45 goals of communism. Back in 1950’s they declared to take over political parties, take over the school systems, encourage pornography and sexual deviancy. They said they would take over and it appears they did.

They’ve been saying for years gender is a social construct, not a biological reality.
(The one in a thousand biological error doesn’t count in the male/female binary, but liberals like to cite the exceptions as proof there shouldn’t be a rule.)
Now feminists have to face men who feel they are women as equals, because they’ve been saying that there’s no real difference between men and women.

The irony is that the transgenders hype biology constantly, saying they have female brains in a male body. Instead of saying they have a mental illness, and correcting the mind to fit the body, they are now encouraged to mutilate the body to suit the warped mental image.

And if they don’t want to do full surgery or can’t afford it, the interim allows these men access to female spaces, because liberals value feelings over all else.

But now they are facing something way more primordial - men who demand the right to invade female spaces that are segregated for the protection (bathrooms, changing rooms, sports teams) and preference (women’s groups).

And because they’ve said there’s no difference except what you think there is, they can’t fight it.

And because they’ve given greater weight to the smallest minority, the transgenders trump feminists when it comes to preferences.

Diana, I ALWAYS agree with you. Seriously.

Grew up in Des Plaines; my sister and brother in law and my nephews were born in Madison, WI; one of them died there.

Now, my Dad lives in WI too. :)

Anyway, please put me on any ping list you have.

This is so ridiculous. These girls are at a very vulnerable time in (the topic of the thread) their lives.

Anyway... my family here out in Canada (too far to visit my birth family easily) had two major surgeries (on hubby on August 29, then our daughter last week), so I am tired... but I just wanted to say that I love to see your name on a thread, because, as I said, you always nail it. :)

btw.. Cheeseheads rule! (is that okay???) ;) We kind of have a weird relationship with my WI family.. I love the Bears; they love the Packers. But my sister better be rooting for the Bears... ;

Sorry, my sister was also born in Chicago, my BIL in Northbrook. They later moved to WI. :) There, they had their children. :)

Gays refer to heterosexual women as breeders. Women have done a lot over the years to keep them in their place and out of the mainstream. They are an aggressive sexual threat to men and boys. Moms have always known this.

Yet the Democrats have a Tantrum when anyone suggests the Federal Government withhold Funds from Sanctuary Cities that do not follow Federal Immigration Law.

Interesting...

A high school sports team of so dissant females would have the upper body strength given by ‘XY’ chromosomes, but compete against ‘XX’ equipped real females.

Egregiously unfair, I say!

Having come of age in the 70’s, I totally understand what they were up to.

They must feel they’re at ‘Mission Accomplished’ because you rarely hear a peep out of that crowd any longer.

But, by now they’re all childless, bitter, dried up old hags. You reap what you sow.
