He's been slowly climbing to the lead for weeks and now Dr. Ben Carson has officially overtaken Donald Trump's status as the frontrunner in the GOP race for the White House.

According to a new WSJ/NBC News poll, Carson is leading Trump by six points.

We predicted months ago the GOPe strategy would be to attack Trump's inevitability. We sensed the GOPe would report and cheer wherever/whenever they could, pointing to other candidates who were 'surging', climbing, overtaking etc.

Those that know me know that I give no credence to any poll, but the question I have would be will this have an effect? Will people be 'conditioned' to thinking Trump is not the choice, not the one, etc. so that if he loses, there will be a basis to claim it was all foreseen?

To me, the real threat is in using a tactic similar to the Cochran-McDaniel fraud of last summer. This was where the McConnell-Barbor gang arranged for PAC money to buy organizers, media, and officials in Mississippi to spread fear among the democrat black community in Mississippi that McDaniel was a racist. The result was that democrat crossovers voted in the runoff to hand the election to Cochran.

I believe arrangements similar to the above action are in the cards. This to me is what matters.

But where do confusing polls and contrived obfuscation fit in with all of this? Is it to cloud the observed passion and commitment of Trump supporters as just a 'faction' who are not numerous enough to grant Donald the nomination? Because if the narrative of polls showing Trump is behind is followed by the Cochran-McDaniel tactic, then taking the primary away from Donald Trump will have had a pretext narrative that he was never much ahead in the polls.

Is this their strategy? I think yes. We are being played.

Then what is to be done? I believe that Trump Supporters will need to serve as Donald's army in the field to uncover the real story of Ben Carson's 'rise' as frontrunner. And then the facts found will need to be advertised by the Trump campaign. But the timing is crucial. I think Donald needs to start now with factfinding and start to release the findings this month to launch a pushback against the propaganda activities of the GOPe.

They are playing with some of these polls. They will also play on election day with results. Be ready for it.

“Is this their strategy? I think yes. We are being played. “

They are playing the only cards they have left, but it won’t work.

Too bad!

Carson’s handlers are Farrakhan fans and the good doctor has been a Republican for one year.

Trump-Cruz!

We need a retired brain surgeon for president about as bad as we needed an America-hating foreign exchange student.

Look how well that’s worked out for this now pitiful nation!

So how do you account for this poll?

http://polling.reuters.com/#!poll/TR130/type/smallest/filters/PARTY_ID_:2/dates/20150808-20151103/collapsed/false/spotlight/1

NBC and the WSJ are not people on whom anyone should rely for unbiased political polling!

The poll was taken BEFORE the debate. Why MSNBC SAT on the poll until people would think it was taken after the debate is up to you to decide.

Yeah another poll had Trump at 33% and Carson at 12%

Something is hinky.

It could be that polls are being skewed by flawed methodology and that this is not intentional

I heard Rush talking about some of these polls with the margin of error being anywhere from 6% to 4.5%, which is quite a bit in polling.

I would say the polling we are seeing is designed to show Carson ahead, anything to show Trump weakening.

Two things this week might trip that up, (A) Trump’s new book out today, (B) Trump’s appearance on Saturday Night Live.

This is one of the reasons that Trump may need to some polls himself to see what is really going on out there.

Old news.....Trump rules the polls once again!!! End of story!!! Oh.....by the way, hope ya all caught the “Trump” new conference today, given just before he did his book signing thing!!!

If ya compare the Trump book signing to the Clinton book signing.....Hillary Clinton was a major flop & Trump rules!!!

Townhall dated their report as of today. I know there was a WSJ poll reported previously but I was thinking this was another round that was made available today. Could it be?

Why would Townhall report a poll taken days ago when other polls since are showing Trump ahead again?

It's WAY early in the Horse Race to pay too much attention.

Better to focus on what Congress and our fearless Dicktater are up to.

the establishment machine can ruin anyone. Trump is the only candidate with the resources to call out those who control the DC machine. If Trump goes, the establishment machine will devour the remaining RNC candidates, except for Bush, Rubio, Kasich and the other establishment RINOs in the line up.

It’s pretty much within the margin, and if you take into account the white guilt factor, Trump is still ahead.

But buried in the poll.

“And, regardless of who you support, which one of the following candidates do you think is most likely to win the Republican nomination for president in 2016”
Donald Trump.................................................... 36
Ben Carson ....................................................... 25

“Which of the following candidates do you think has the best chance to defeat the Democratic candidate and regain the White House?”
Donald Trump.................................................... 32
Ben Carson ....................................................... 25

From Hotair on previous poll

Carson takes the lead in latest NYT/CBS national poll on previous poll:>/p>

CBS notes that the MOE is 6%, which makes this a virtual dead heat. It's a subset of a larger poll, the full data for which will get released later when CBS and the Times wish to report on them.

Is this another subset of a larger poll, unreleased internals?

We have to keep in mind that most people are not as informed as we are.

I would bet there are quite a few people out there that hear this news and think Trump and Carson are neck and neck. This would explain why Donald has a travel schedule of rally after rally to overcome the media filter.
