Scarborough: No Republican Has Hosted Network Sunday Show or Newscast in 50 Years
NewsBusters ^ | Mark Finkelstein

Posted on 11/02/2015 5:36:56 AM PST by governsleastgovernsbest

In the wake of the CNBC debate debacle, Joe Scarborough went on an epic rant on liberal media bias on today's Morning Joe. He summed things up this way, in challenging the panel: "you can't do it and nobody here can do it: name the single Republican that has hosted a Sunday show, that has been an anchor of a news network for the big three networks over the past 50 years: you can not do it."

Mark Halperin largely agreed, saying "there's huge liberal media bias." But Mike Barnicle actually claimed that having fair moderators would be a bad thing for Republicans because they would lose their ability to run against the media.

What’s he raising hell about, he has a show named after him on the most liberal network on PMSNBC, and all the years of hosting it has turned him into the biggest liberal on the program. This is man that said Sarah Palin didn’t have enough sense to be president. The man that has made a habit of making fun of conservatives is entire life.

Barnicle is a total asshole, yes asshole.

He purposely misses the point.

Barnicle would much prefer the Republican candidates spend their precious debate minutes blasting the media, than using those minutes to actually explain our side's superior remedies and Conservative positions to our Republic's ills and ailments.

Barnicle and his demonic-rat party fear an informed electorate. They actually know Conservativism effectively works.

Hers's the deal. Part of the R playbook is to run against the media. For a variety of good reasons and perceptional reasons that can be exploited.

But even if the moderators were conservative, Conservative's have their favorites. So candidates would still claim bias. A pro Cruz moderator would be called out for bias by the others who felt slighted by that moderator who may be more or less conservative than Cruz.

R's may find their solution is really a Catch 22.

I TIVO the show, but today I was awake -— (I haven’t yet changed my clocks! LOL)

I think they’ve changed because both Joe and Mika TRULY LIKE Mr. Donald Trump and so they’re both MAD at the lamestream, too!

Joe is still a bit hesitant to actually knock his friend, Jeb, and he’s also too nice to Fatso Christie for my liking, but he’s otherwise been A-OKay thus far, IMO.

Almost everyone I know, despises Mika, but thus far, I don’t mind her at all! She LIKES Donald Trump, so I like her! LOL.

I despise Barnicle, but he is a typical Massachusetts demonic-rat - dull, stupid, stubborn and slow to catch-on (as in almost retarded).

I’m not so sure about “no” or “none”. Wasn’t David Brinkley a Republican?

What makes you think that?

Would it be his LIVE mic during the 1996 presidential election?

I recall that he made some remarks about Bill Clinton - something along the lines of “Clinton being a bore,” and “his next four years would entail a lot of crap, etc.”

I think Chris has said on a number of equations that he followed his Dad’s edict that a journalist shouldn’t register with a party, regardless of their own beliefs.

I actually think David Brinkley was a Republican later in life.

As if Republicans don't already something to run against, the Marxist Democrats?

Yes they have been honest, thanks to Trump. I’m impressed that Joe is not too proud to change his mind in the face of facts and logic.

I use to watch “This Week” when I pumped gas. He also had no patience for Sam Donaldson.

He was very specific to focus on ABC, CBS and NBC only, and said something to the effect of Fox exists because the other networks never hire republicans for any leading positions.

Cruz’ description of the Democrat media may go down with Reagan’s “evil empire” quote as one of the most conscience -awakening statements, for the Left, in the last 50 years.

Gorbachev admitted that Reagan’s characterization of the Soviet Union prompted him to reevaluate his political philosophy.

According to the article, Joe specifically mentioned the ‘big three’ networks when he said no Republican had hosted a Sunday news show in 50 years.

Do I suspect a “promotion” to Sunday mornings in the near future for Sean Hannity?

“Diane Sawyer doesn’t count. She worked for Nixon but was a lib.”

Nixon was a lib. OSHA and the EPA were two of his gifts. He inherited a balanced budget and blew it (like George W. Bush). He expanded the EEOC. He didn’t try to roll back the Johnson Great Society programs. He took the US currency off the gold standard. He played nice with the Chicoms and his opening to China paved the way for the decimation of the US manufacturing infrastructure. His nuclear arms treaties allowed the Soviet economy to hang on another 20 years.
